Though judgment may sound harsh, it's good news for those who trust in Jesus—it means evil will end, God's people will be vindicated, and a new world will begin. Jonah got a second chance—and so did the people of Nineveh. Even though Jonah ran from God, God still used him to deliver a powerful message. The Ninevites listened, changed their ways, and experienced God's mercy. It's a reminder that God isn't done with us—even when we've messed up. Teacher - Tom Harrigan

When Jonah hit rock bottom, he discovered God's mercy still met him there. In the belly of a fish and the weight of his own failure, Jonah looked up in desperation, not knowing if God would respond.
