The Port Phillip EcoCentre's Clean Bay Blueprint research has found that 828 million littered items reach Port Phillip Bay each year from the surface of our two urban rivers, the Yarra and the Maribyrnong. 74% of this is microplastics. Sea slugs, also known as nudibranchs (or nudies), are the stars of the show today. Kade Mills, ReefWatch Coodinator from the Victorian National Parks Association, is in the studio to tell us all about the upcoming Sea Slug Census on April 21 and 22, where volunteers are invited to snorkel their favourite spots and take photos of these colourful little critters, all in the name of citizen science.
