I’ll keep this one short like the show. Here are my favorites. Finally, Two Bad, but unfortunately, it’s too bad. A new size comparison shot of the Thunder Machine makes it much more appealing. I haven’t seen the short yet, but an evil Bumblebee with a fusion cannon? Yes please. And Star Wars literally had […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 349: I Think This Might B...

I’m watching the 1962 Cape Fear as I write this. It’s crazy how much is the same. Especially compared to the latest series made almost 65 years later. I’ve been watching a ton of documentaries and period piece shows. A lot of 70s and 90s stuff. Major themes, story lines, and most importantly, societal norms […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 348: The More Things Change, The More They...

It’s a rare Friday with some time off before a long weekend, so I said what the heck. If it’s good enough for Rebecca Black, it’s good enough for me. Watching the documentary about George Romero’s Resident Evil. Never heard of it? Me neither, but that’s the great thing about having a curator. In this […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 347: It’s Friday, Friday… appeared fi...

At least at our local sports ball game, so yeah, we’re going. But I’m going to try to get this out first, so no long post this time. Holy moly. That was a whole lot of SDCC. Even down two regular hosts, but with one very special guest host, we barely got through the four franchises. The Other category had some great stuff we’ll get to in the next show. But, man, SDCC never ceases to impress. Of course, that’s the whole point, […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 345: SDCC 2026… appeared first on Op...

The news has been coming fast and furious. For the first time, I find myself glad that I’m not there. I think I have relegated myself to our nice small (80k people) local con. It is making me appreciate people like Pixel Dan even more. The fact that they’re still at it, doing walkthroughs and […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 344: Inundated with SDCC… appeared firs...

I can finally do something I haven’t been able to do in 15 years, touch all 4 walls of my Site B. I’ve been seriously hitting it hard for 6 months. It now contains over 30 cataloged 27-gallon black and yellows, almost 30 “sell” tubs that have been refilled for a second time, and a […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 343: Accomplishments, I’ve Had a Few&#8...

Our biggest local con starts today, Fan Expo Denver. Over the past 10+ years, it has become a juggernaut. Some highlights this year, for me at least, include a pretty comprehensive Scream and Goonies reunion, most of the cast of The Boys, all the Hobbits, and a huge amount of voice actors, including Michael Bell, […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 340: Let Con Season, Begin… ap...

I’ve really come to love eBay, even more than I did when all I mostly did was buy stuff. It’s so transactional. Here’s my price, pay it or move on. I do entertain offers, especially for multiple purchases. However, most of the time, I just tell people to kick rocks until I lower the price. I completely Star Warsed myself out yesterday. If you’re in the group or follow me, you probably got a lot of spam about what I was watching all day. However, as I write this, I’m watching the third Family Guy Star Wars special, It’s a Trap. Why? I have mild OCD and must finish a […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 338: Happy Revenge of the 5th… appeared first on Ope...

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks at Slick McFavorite Toys. I sold at my favorite toy show this weekend. As always, I had a great time. Got to see guys I’ve seen, bought from, and sold to for almost 20 years. I had great neighbors this year. We got a crazy late start on this show. This was due to a small spill of vodka on the corner of my laptop, no big deal. I’ve had spills before. Did all the right stuff, shut down, tent to drain, wait at least 24 hours. Powered up the next day, huge display issue, freak […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 336: Slick McSpiller… appeared first on Open Your Toys .

It’s that time of year again. While we’re not back to the golden age of New York Toy Fair, this year’s was pretty impressive. The big two represented relatively well, even if the four greatest franchises ranged from amazing to mediocre. As always, the Others had some great reveals. I gotta say, as I finally […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 334: Toy Fair 2026… appe...

If you haven’t noticed yet, I get pretty “dedicated” to things. I think that’s evident in doing this show for almost 18 years now. The show’s tagline even begins with dedicated. Most people would call it obsessive. However, I’ve never really appreciated the negative connotation of that word. This week, I spent, I don’t even […] The post Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 332: Dedication… appeared...

How are your resolutions going? For me? See the title of this post. Making progress in some regards, but stuck in ruts with others. I think that’s why I don’t necessarily make “resolutions”. Whenever I watch movies that spiral out from just one moment in time, it always makes me think about how quickly life can change. Just like that, all the comfort in your routines you have built up over the years can disappear. Unfortunately, it seems like it rarely ever happens in a positive sense.
