Is it the most disturbing episode of DWEEBS? For sure. Is it the most problematic thing Emily and Andrew have had to discuss for all of the pod? Maybe. This episode has it all... if you're looking for bad sex jokes, weird office politics, and then... criminal office politics? One would hope criminal. Icky bad.

In an entirely unexpected turn of events, one of the guys falls hard for Kari and doesn't have a gross subplot about it. Emily and Andrew keep checking to make sure they're watching the right show. There are the usual nineties yikes moments, to be sure, but overall... has DWEEBS turned a corner?

As much as Emily and Andrew do not want to discuss nineties fitness culture as presented on primetime television, they have no choice thanks to yet another episode of terrible work-life boundaries. Undoubtedly more things occur--oh, no, doodly-doo fantasy sequences... Joy.

Emily and Andrew are too busy being stunned at how the men write dialogue for the lovely female television actors to notice it may be one of the first (cyber) catfishing episodes. Join them as they stare into the abyss of nineties television.

Emily and Andrew think they're going back to the office with the guys but then realize it's another episode entirely centered around having to socialize with your coworkers off work time. Also there's some good Tobolowsky. Which is about all you can ask for with DWEEBS.

Emily and Andrew record the first ONESIES live and get to discuss unexpected better performances (oof), post-pilot changes, comic timing, the lack of comic timing, the lack of comic anything, and the ick factor. So much ick factor.

Emily and Andrew make sure there's no one using the phone line, then pop in the latest AOL CD that came in the mail, and zoom back in time to 1995 when the world hadn't yet given up on American sitcoms centered around computer nerds. What do they learn? Not a lot, but it's only ten episodes and at least it wasn't on ABC. Plus, Stephen Tobolowsky!

And now, the time has come, Mel's faced his final mission, He's walked the smallest steps, and now Emily and Andrew can run away. Da do run run. It's the penultimate episode and Mel spends the entire thing in a pair of shorts to make Jack Tripper blush. He's got to defeat some evil spies who have snuck into the apartment. Emily and Andrew tag along as Bill goes magazine shopping for a sick and whiny Mel, who's at home berating Brownie because the only pleasure in a man's life is tormenting his lady employees. But when Bill profiles the pharamicist, things start getting interesting. I mean, at least it's not boring. Emily and Andrew join Mel and Bill on their trip to Hong Kong, which features very few people of Chinese origin, mainland or HK. Instead, Mel and Bill are trying to help foil people trying to escape to capitalism. Because 1959's weird.

Emily and Andrew come to the awkward realization, no matter how adorable the low-fi special effects can get, the show being about a giant twerp, all two to six inches of him, is too much. But they do have some fun talking... and sometimes about the show!

Turns out Emily and Andrew are in for more surprises as this episode retcons Mel being a jerk to lady regular character Brownie and apologizing to ... him saying he'll never apologize and he does it because he likes her. Swell. But there some big special effects swings (and stumbles). Loads of fun.

Emily and Andrew are in for a big surprise when return to THE WORLD OF GIANTS because all of a sudden, there are lady folks, recognizable supporting players, and sturdy effects sequences. Oh, and no animal cruelty. It's like it's an entirely different show... except most assuredly, real life 6-inch spy Mel Hunter, is, again, very real, no matter what your mom tells you.

Emily and Andrew head into the yard to smoke some squares, hunt innocent gophers, and avoid raking leaves for as long as they can. They run across the world's totally non-fiction, real-world six-inch espionage agent... Mel Hunter. And step on him. They wish. Tune in as they discuss their regrets in not doing so.

That's right, folks! MORE ANIMAL CRUELTY! Maybe they really didn't do it. Maybe. Anyway, it's the episode Emily and Andrew have been waiting for--not the animal cruelty, jeez--but the incredibly cheap incredible shrinking effects. Oh, and we get to see what WORLD OF GIANTS thinks of the ladies... Buckle up.

Emily and Andrew were planning for a relaxing afternoon in the garage, using their tools to solder, as ones do when preparing to testify against the Mob. Hope no one sends them a TIME BOMB disguised as a book-of-the-month club selection. Even worse... what if they don't have a secret agent spy Ken doll to save them!?!

Emily overcomes a plot point she really doesn't like (despite Andrew's attempts to craft the episode around it), and settles into another fantastic episode of PWB's CRASHING. The show keeps making (unexpected) big swings and landing them. Tune in as the hosts continue... enjoying the show they're watching! Whoo!

Once again, Emily and Andrew find themselves contending with a... good television show? Exquisite at times? Thoughtful? All these words they've forgotten how to engage with, beatened down by the ABC sitcoms of yore. But thanks to PWB, they're learning to live in television land again!
