So many people think the key to beating feeling overwhelmed is to find balance. What if it isn’t? When you look at history, meaningful lives are rarely characterized by balance. Jesus and other biblical figures that changed history could hardly be described as balanced people. Instead they’re lives were characterized by something far greater. It could transform your life too.

It would be really easy to approach the home stretch of 2017 with the blues. So, we want to cheer you up! We want to party! Everyone loves a good party and what better reason to celebrate than Jesus? In fact, we believe that Christmas can change the world because Christmas is all about Jesus!

Christmas doesn’t always feel like the most wonderful time of the year. Obligations, money, family drama, and loved ones who are not around can make us feel sad and stressed out. But what if there was a way for us to have a deep joy that overcomes all of these circumstances?

Most people don’t have a problem with God. After all, plenty of people show up for church on Christmas and Easter. But unfortunately people do have a problem with the church. Over the centuries Christians have made Christianity so complex that people simply write it off as irrelevant and confusing.

What does it mean to be the church? What change does the Holy Spirit cause in our lives? Today, we’re looking at the expansion of the church through the lives of the first generation of Christians—a group who, much like us today, hungered for an encounter with God.

As the first century believers grew in numbers, so did the Jews’ determination to stomp out the church, but God used their vain attempts to strengthen and spread His message. The enemies of the early church designed to scatter and lose them, yet God designed to scatter and use them. Are you experiencing problems and difficulties today? Maybe God wants to use them so that you can be used by Him.

The church does not exist for us. We are the church and we exist for the world. We are not called to just be spiritual consumers, but spiritual contributors.

Small groups are where people come together on a regular basis and “do life” together. This allows us to genuinely connect with others while being encouraged and challenged in our relationship with God. Being involved in a small group is the simplest way to impact and influence people directly for Christ.

People who were not like Jesus liked Jesus, and he liked them back. Since the church is the body of Christ, people should be drawn to Jesus followers. Even if they don’t agree with the message of the church, they should like the church. So, why isn’t that true?

“You cannot grow without change and change is never comfortable. A lot of people want the church to grow as long as it doesn’t make them uncomfortable. But if the church is going to continue to grow, we must be willing to serve outside our comfort zones.” - Rick Warren

Choices matter. Motives matter. All it takes is one small thing to either bless everything or blow everything up.

A catalyst is an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action. What if you were a catalyst for good, a catalyst for love, and a catalyst for life-change?
