One Minute Halacha Program With Rav Ari

1) Every single word of פסוקי דמרא needs to be said with שמחה and slowly 🎵😁 -the reason is because פסוקי דמרא is there to bring you to a place of ביטול before Hashem and it has the power to destroy the klipah 2) Its אסור to hold something in your hands that can disrupt your kavana ❌ 🍽️💸 -Because, you might be worried that they will fall

*Things that you CAN 👍 say during פסוקי דמרא:* ☑️ If you go to bathroom during פסוקי דזמרא, you should say אשר יצר ☑️ If you get called up to the Torah, then you can take the aliyah ▶️ But, you ideally לכתחילה shouldn’t call someone up to the Torah while he is davening פסוקי דזמרא

*Things that you CAN 👍 say/answer during פסוקי דמרא:* ☑️ Can say אמן to a bracha, even if your in the middle of a Pasuk (as long your not in the middle of a certain idea) ☑️ Can answer אמן יהא שמיה רבא of kaddish ☑️ Can say קדושה but CAN’T say the first line of נקדש ☑️ Can say מודים דרבנן ☑️ Can say the first pasuk of שמע with the ציבור *Things that you CANT 👎 say during פסוקי דמרא:* ✖️Can’t say...

1) The bracha of ברוך שאמר was instituted as the opening bracha of פסוקי דזמרא when the אנשי כנסת הגדולה found a note from שמים containing the words of ברוך שאמר 🌅🗒️ 2) Its אסור to speak between ברוך שאמר and ישתבח ❎ -The point of פסוקי דזמרא is to destroy the יצר הרעs that are coming to steal your תפילהs. So if you speak, then they’ll be able to come and take your תפילהs 😈👹 -so DONT SPEAK ❌🗣...

1) What should you do on shabbos to get to 100 brachos when you lose out on over 30 Brachos because of short שמונה עשרי?🕯️🕯️ 🍷 -You should be עוסק in עונג שבת and eat more to make up the Brachos 🥩🌭 2) The time for the 100 brachos starts at the nighttime of the night before 🌃

1) Its a full-on obligation to say 100 brachos a day 💯 -the reason for this halacha is because during the times of דוד המלך 👑, a hundred people were dying ☠️ per day. So, דוד re-instituted this תקנה (originally introduced by Moshe alluded to in the Torah) to stop the plague -counting your brachas make you G-d conscious during the day 💭 2) On a regular day, you basically fulfill your חיוב of 100...

1) Your תפילין של ראש goes just above your hairline 👱🏻 -CANNOT touch your forehead at all 👨🏻‍🦲 2) Important to look out for your friends to make sure that their תפילין is in the right place 👬🏻👬🏻

1) If you stay up the entire night, 🌙🌅 you should have someone say ברכות התורה for you with the kavana to be מוציא you and you should have intent to be יוצא with him 🤝🧏‍♂️ -If you can’t find someone to say ברכות התורה for you, then have the intention to be יוצא during אהבה רבה ❤️ 2) 💤However, if napped during previous day a שינת קבע, 🛌combined with staying up all night, you can make ברכת התו...

*Three main condition that define a שינת קבע vs a שינת עראי:* 1) you change into pajamas 🥼 2) you go into bed 🛏️ 3) you sleep at least 30 minutes 🕡 -If your missing any of these, its a שינת עראי (temporary nap) 💤 🤏 UNLESS this is your only option to sleep the night, like on an airplane ✈️ -If you take a שינת קבע (set sleep), after the sun sets, you have demonstrated that your day is halachical...

1) One ברכות התורה works for the entire day because a Jew is constantly living Torah and thinking about Torah 🧬 2) So what if you take a nap? 🥱 -A quick nap is definitely not enough of an interruption to need a new ברכות התורה 🏃‍♂️ -Also מנהג העולם is NOT to make a new bracha after a long nap 😴 3) In regards to ברכות התורה, the night is NOT considered a new Halachic day so no new bracha before...

1) If a person didn’t make ברכות התורה before davening, you could have kavana to fill your חיוב during the bracha of אהבה רבה before שמע ❤️📖 -However, immediately after Tefillah, you must learn Torah 👇🏻 2) One bracha works for the entire day because a Jew naturally always wants to learn every moment that he can, so he is never מסיח דעת from his original bracha (exceptions in the next Halacha)...

You need to learn Torah immediately after making the bracha on learning torah 📚 -Thats why we say “יברכך”… which are the Pesukim of Birkas Kohanim, and both of the אלו דברים which are Mishna and Gemara immediately afterwards so that we learn מקרא, משנה, וגמרא connected to our bracha 🫴🏻

1) Very strict to not learn תורה for the sake of learning תורה before saying ברכות התורה 📚🙏 2) Sfardim say “על דברי תורה”; while Ashkenazim say “לעסוק בדברי תורה” and then continue on and say “והערב נא” followed by אשר בחר בנו״👨🏽👨🏻 -Don’t say אמן after you hear someone the words “לעסוק בדברי תורה” even though it sounds like the conclusion of the bracha because the bracha continutes

1) You have to be extremely careful with ברכות התורה ⚠️ -many rishonim say that ברכות התורה is דאורייתא 🌄 -Gemara says that one of the reasons the בית המקדש was destroyed was because showed a lack of כבוד to the תורה by being lax in ברכות התורה🫡 2) Have to say ברכות התורה with a sense of שמחה 😁😁 that Hashem gives us the ability to learn torah 3) One must say ברכות התורה before starting learnin...

1) The bracha of אלקי נשמה and “המעביר שנה מעיני” shouldn’t be said by someone who was up all night ❌😴 -Rather, he should have someone else say the bracha for and him he should have in mind to be יוצא through him 🫵🏻 -Because, they are Brachos specified to YOU as an individual and therefore you can’t say them if they don’t currently apply to you

Very important to say ברכות השחר at the proper time which is before you daven 🙏🙏🙏 WHY? One reason is Because anyone who benefits from anything in this world without a bracha, it’s as if he stole from Hashem and is being מעל, taking personal benefit from הקדש🌎🥷🏻 So we cover all our bases as soon as possible!

1) Right before you enter the shul, you should PAUSE ⏸️ take a deep breath and say “בבית אלו-הים נהלך ברגש”, which means “Into the house of G-d I’m going to enter with feeling and awe” and show that you are entering with a sense of יראה 🏠 2) Then, as you walk into the shul, you should say “ואני ברוב חסדך אבוא ביתך אשתחוה אל היכך קדשך ביראתך” and bow a little as you say this towards the Aron Kodes...

1) Immediately after saying אשר יצר, a person should do his best to say אלקי נשמה after 🔥 2) The order these brachos should be said is: first you say אשר יצר, then אלקי נשמה and then ברכות התורה ✅

1) Start saying on the 7th of חשון in Israel and 60 days after the fall equinox in חוץ לארץ 🍁 2) If you forget to say “ותן טל ומטר”… 🤷‍♂️ -if your still in the bracha of ברך עלינו, go back to words ותן טל and continue from there 💰 -if you finished the bracha of ברך עלינו, you could say the words ותן טל ומטר לברכה before you say “כי אתה שומע” in שמע קולנו 🙏 -if you finished שמע קולנו, you could...

) You SHOULD NOT ❌ wash WITH A BRACHA after waking up from a nap during the day🥱 2) You SHOULD ✔️ wash 3 times on each hand due to a possibility of רוח רע 💧 -Not clear how much sleep you need to get to make it that you need to wash during a daytime nap. However, many poskim say half hour 🕡 -One should always be careful to wash regardless because it’s not difficult in todays times 🙂

Q: What should you do if you stay up all night in terms of נטילת ידים? 🌤️🌒 A: You still should wash your hands because: 1) you are considered a brand new creation 2) you have a רוח רע 🆕 -BUT, in order to be able to make a bracha, you should go to the bathroom first 🧻 because the first 2 reasons don’t constitute a bracha
