Are you 100% certain that you will go to heaven when you die? One hundred percent. Absolutely no doubt in your mind. Heaven is as much a reality for you as West Texas wind. If you’re not 100% certain, then why not? What’s keeping you from having the confidence of soul security?

Everyone is climbing a ladder. Question is, what’s your ladder leaning against?

We’re closer to the Second Coming than ever before. That truth should cause us to pause, reflect, and ask, “What difference does it make?” As we watch and wait the return of the Messiah, what should we be doing to prepare? How do we pass the time?

God is glorified when we are so fully entrusted to Him that no human institution or unjust action can pry our eyes away.

What is our faith all about? What’s the point of it? What’s the goal? Why should we go through this life trying to be faithful to God and give up so many things the world has to offer?

The primary take away from James 1:19 is: Listen more, talk less, and settle down. This exhortation, of course, applies to how we are to interact with those around us. But before we go plucking verse 19 out of Chapter 1 and making it stand alone, let’s consider everything that’s going on around it because there is more to this verse that we often miss.

There is no partial or divided allegiance when it comes to serving Christ. We serve only one Master. There’s no having our cake and eating it too.
