Old School was a period that validated Blacks/African Americans as a race and ethnic group; it signified us as a culture; and United us as a people in search for human and civil rights. As we fought for civil rights - we failed to openly state human rights which was at the core of Black Lives Matter. Old School is a history and a generation that lived at the crossroads of the past and the future.

House parties were the Facebook and Instagram of our time because they provided an environment for socializing to include dancing and dating. The black community was at its closest relationship during that generation. Roll back the rug and move all those tables and chairs.

This episode provides some insight into how I viewed the church as a young child. I remember going to Sunday school before service and saving some of the money my parents gave me for offerings to spend at the church at the corner of the block. It was all good.
