He earned his writing chops as a war correspondent and was beloved of readers all over the world. His writing philosophy seemed to be 'grab 'em by the throat and keep 'em guessing'. The father of germ theory and epidemiology was an Italian Renaissance doctor who also happened to write the seminal (pardon the pun) poem giving the disease Syphilis its name and origin story.
