So often hope is tied to eternity. In this sermon, Kent explains how Christian hope changes the past, present and future. Isaiah 9 foretells how the Messiah will bring hope to all people in all times. How do we become the people of hope today?

Paul wrote that he is unashamed of the Gospel and proudly proclaims it to anybody and everybody. In this sermon Kent shares how being unashamed is not only being bold and brash, but often begins with us being willing to sit in the discomfort of our struggles, weaknesses, and sufferings. The Elders at Northwest have decided it's time to appoint new Elders and Deacons at Northwest. This sermon is the beginning point of a series of Bible studies and conversations at Northwest about who can Biblically serve as an Elder and Deacon in the New Testament and in our church today. 

2 John is a letter from John to a church that tells them the importance of continuing to love one another, but that if somebody denies Jesus is the Christ then they can be dangerous to a church and should not be permitted to spread such lies.

The word "abide" is in the New Testament 26 times. All of those are in John's books and 16 in the small book of 1 John. This word, which means to "dwell with" reminds us how important it is to spend time with Christ in prayer, Bible study, living obediently, and loving our brothers and sisters. In 1 John 1-2, John calls Christians to obey and to love one another. The beginning of loving one another is receiving the presence of God and then offering it to our brothers and sisters in Christ. This year at Camp Rock Creek our theme is "Level Up." While we are saved by grace and God's mercy, it doesn't mean Christians shouldn't be leveling up in their faith. Peter encourages Christians to add many character traits of God to their faith. Will you accept the challenge to keep growing in your faith?

Each week we take the Lord's Supper and remember that Jesus gave his body and spilled his blood to save us. But it's more than just a time to remember. This meal connects us weekly to Christ and also reminds us to "remember forward" his sacrifice so that it transforms our present and future lives to look more like Jesus.

Baptism is more than a bath and far more than a symbol. Baptism unites us in a REAL way to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It changes your standing in God's Kingdom and makes you a member of the church, changing how you connect to other baptized Christians. 

Worship is more than singing to God. It gives us a chance to bring God glory. It reminds us God is in control and we aren't. It brings us into the presence of God and should not leave us unchanged.
