The New Testament has a lot to say about money, giving, and generosity. Join us as Pastor Kevin Fontenot preaches through the love of money, contentment, whether or not Christians should tithe, and what generosity looks like.

We must take a step back and ask ourselves if we see giving as a box to check or an area to surrender to God? If it’s a box to be checked, we’ll ask “how much do I need to give?”But if it’s an area to surrender, we’ll ask “How much do I really need to keep?” Money makes a terrible god and the sooner we smash the idol, the better. We are to love the Lord our God with all that we have.

Once we come to know who God is intellectually, we’ll desire to know Him relationally through prayer.   Truly knowing God is the key to a vibrant prayer life and is how we overcome all the things that stand in the way of prayer.

Our world is broken, but there is hope in Jesus. We should be people, like Nehemiah, who recognize the brokenness and are driven to prayer. Passionate, teary-eyed prayer aligns our heart with God’s heart and is key to seeing awakening established.

No one deserves grace. All have sinned. All fall short. All deserve eternal damnation because of their sin. The scandal of grace is that forgiveness and restoration is available to all no matter what they have done.

We’re never going to have our suffering alleviated fully. There’s always going to be pain, trials, and oppression. But, we can rest in knowing that God sees us, cares for us, and one day will make all things new.

Here’s the thing, friends: Wherever you currently find yourself, it’s not too late for your story to be different. Your story doesn’t hinge on your biggest mistake or your biggest success. Prayer must be a way of life for us in Christ. 

The Beatitudes remind us what a disciple of Jesus should look like. 

Jesus was born, and died, to bring about redemption. And that redemption is available to all people — even the outcasts and those who are seemingly the lowest of the low. We didn’t do anything to deserve such a love, and yet God has come near to us. The question now is this: how will you respond?

It’s easy to get lost in our lived reality, but the true reality is that the birth of Jesus has turned the world upside down. God has never given up on His plan to redeem His good creation. God is still with us, still saving us, and still inviting us into His work as agents of restoration.

God knows your every sin. He knows your every failure. He knows all about the things you hope no one else will find out about. And guess what? Out of His great love, He came and died so that you might experience forgiveness and restoration from all of your past.
