Episodes

Episode 15: Warioware Smooth Moves 29.08.2020

This episode is a return to the more standard format, being shorter and having multiple segments. The first portion of the show is more topical than usual, with a dive into the announcement of Pikmin 3 Deluxe, leading to some musings on the amount and quality of switch ports. After that in the News to Me segment, I talk about Red Steel, Link's Crossbow Training, and Rayman Raving Rabbids. For this...

Episode 14: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword 03.08.2020

I know its been a month since the last episode, but this new episode is so long, it will make up for any episodes you were otherwise expecting. Honestly, it's probably too long. The Sole focus of this episode is Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and since I've always been fascinated with this title, the review got a wee bit out of hand. If you, the listener wanted to save yourself two hours of life;...

Episode 13: Mario Kart Wii 29.06.2020

I wasn't playing anything this week, so I opted out of my News to me segment, and instead just focused on some miscellaneous thoughts which included Ocarina of Time's Master Quest, Smash Directs, bad reviews, etc. As seen by the title, I then dived into Mario Kart Wii for this episode's review. If you have any comments or questions, shoot them over to nalistenerq@gmail.com

Episode 12: Red Steel 2 21.06.2020

For this episode, I talk about Shantae, one of the last big exclusives for the GameBoy Color. I haven't finished it yet so my thoughts are only worth so much. I then move on to Ubisoft's Red Steel 2, the tour de force in motion control sword fighting on the Wii, as well as a champion of style. If you have any questions or comments, please send them to nalistenerq@gmail.com Thanks

Episode 11: Rabbids Go Home 17.06.2020

I almost uploaded this episode on time, but alas. For the first portion of the show, I talk about two well-regarded titles; Resident Evil 4 and Paper Mario (64). I concur with the former's high regard, but the latter's praise leaves me slightly confounded. If you like me, often confuse former and latter, you'll just have to listen in to find out which is which. As for this episode's Wii review, I...

Episode 10: No More Heroes 09.06.2020

This episode features only a brief section of what I've been playing, in which I talk about the unique platformer that is Gargoyle's Quest for the Gameboy. Then for this episode's review, I tackle Suda51's classic, No More Heroes, and also rope in its sequel No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle for a double review. I figured that if I talked about the games separately from one another, comparisons...

Episode 9: Mario Strikers Charged 31.05.2020

Sorry for the delay, I can't guarantee if it was worth it, even so, I hope you enjoy this episode. The first section of the show is dedicated to Star Fox Adventures, going in-depth on the game's origins, its reception by fans, and also my own feelings on it 18 years after the fact. As always, the second portion of the show concerns a Wii title. The game featured this go-around is Mario Strikers Ch...

Episode 8: Battalion Wars 2 13.05.2020

In this episode, I start with my thoughts on two Gameboy titles: Balloon Kid, and Molemania. the former a sequel to the famous Iwata developed joust-like, and the latter an obscure Miyamoto puzzle game. After Gameboy, comes Gamecube as I then delve into the launch title Luigi's mansion, focusing particularly on the amount of creativity crammed into such a small package. I then talk about Metal Arm...

Episode 7: Metroid: Other M 30.04.2020

In this episode of the Nintendo Archive, I focus on a trio of 007 games: the embryonic Agent Under Fire, the celebrated Nightfire, and the somewhat forgotten From Russia with Love. Thereafter I discuss a maligned entry in the celebrated, if not lucrative Metroid Franchise for my Wii game retrospective review. If you any questions or want your voice heard, you can reach me at nalistenerq@gmail.com....

Episode 6: Star Successor 21.04.2020

Boy Howdy! Its been a while since I uploaded. This episode of the Nintendo Archive is dedicated mostly to what I've been playing for the past two weeks. After that's out of the way, I briefly explore a well-renowned shooter from a well-renowned developer in this episode's Wii game retro review. If you have any questions, you can send them to the email address nalistenerq@gmail.com

Episode 5: Excite Truck 19.03.2020

In episode 5 of the Nintendo Archive, I discuss an early Wii title, Battalion Wars 2 followed up by Mega Man 5, in which I lament my ability to make headway against the robot masters. I proceed with a quick and dirty comparison between these two games that leads into a small topic regarding the difference between "keys and "tools", that wraps up the first segment of the show. Then for our Wii game...

Episode 4: WarioLand: Shake it 14.03.2020

Its a long episode this week, beginning with a small dispassionate diatribe, and a quick revisit to Donkey '94. Up to this point I was making good time, but I squandered my head start on an hour long dive into our Wii game of the week. No emails, but that can be remedied; send your questions to nalistenerq@gmail.com

Episode 3: 007 Double Feature 08.03.2020

In today's episode of the Nintendo Archive, I briefly discuss Donkey Kong '94 for the Gameboy, followed by a lengthier talk on 007 Everything or Nothing, where I touch one the game's wide breadth of ideas. Continuing on with our main feature, I review my second Wii game; bet you can't guess what game it will be. I'd like to thank the artist, Frostyn for providing the music featured in this podcast...

Episode 2: Punchout 02.03.2020

In today's episode, I discuss two gameboy titles, making remarks on how these old titles can still impress. Afterwards I move into my discussion of Punchout on the Wii; going over its controls, graphics, difficulty, influences and whatever else I could think of. If you have any comments or questions, send them to nalistenerQ@gmail.com.

The Beta 28.02.2020

In the first episode the Nintendo Archive we go over the show's structure going forward, before moving on to what I've been playing, followed by a short discussion on the Wii. Questions and comments can be sent to nalistenerQ@gmail.com
