The time of the Judges was a dark period in Israel's history. However, there were a few bright spots. One of which was the book of Ruth. It reminds us that even though the days of the Judges were morally and religiously dark, some within Israel were still faithful to God and His law!

How can God use such flawed people, like Samson, to get his work done? It's because God is not limited. God can work through all people and any situation to enact His will.

Samson's story is one that we loved as kids and saw as a story of one of God's mighty heroes! But as we look at the story now, we might not have gotten the full picture as kids. God continued to accomplish His will through Samson, in spite of Samson's decisions, so that is good news to us today.

Samson is one of the most well known names in the bible. His birth was even the result of God's miraculous intervention! Samson's calling from the womb is a great reminder that God is a long range planner who never takes His hand off the wheel.

Things are about to go from bad to worse for the Israelites in Judges 9. But, even though the days were evil, God was not absent! He was still in control and nothing has ever changed! God is still in control today!

Again, the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord in Judges 3:12. They were physically and spiritually moving backwards in their rebellion in more ways than one. But, they cried out to God and He sent them an unlikely deliverer. No one is ever too far gone for God to reach.

The Lord is preparing you to live faithfully and at the same time, fight the enemy. So, hard things in life aren’t necessarily bad things if they produce a spiritually battle-ready follower of Jesus! Join us as we continue our Courageous series from the book of Judges.
