New Life Baptist Church

We learn that suffering is not outside of God's control and that there is purpose in our suffering.

We'll see that we must learn the secret of contentment, trusting God to supply every need.

Our lives are marked by anxiety, worry, uncertainty for a variety of reasons. Paul will teach us that if we want to experience the peace of God, we have to exercise obedient faith in the God of peace. That involves pursuing unity with other believers...

This week we take a look at the back half of Philippians 3 and discover that Christians have been made citizens of heaven by God and therefore should live as citizens of heaven on earth.

We learn that God is in process of forming and shaping us into his people and that this process requires humility and action.

This week we learn what humility and true unity in Christ looks like for believers.

We'll learn that kingdom citizens view life as service and death as gain.

Many of us can articulate a biblical theology of suffering. But functionally, we fail to live out what we say we believe. We ask questions like, "Why me? What did I do wrong to deserve this?" instead of seeing our suffering through...

We launch our new series through the book of Philippians as learn how Christians can have joy in uncertain times.

In this parable we learn what it looks like to demonstrate faithfulness to Christ in our stewardship.

This week, we look at the parable of the faithful servant and learn what it looks like to remain faithful in doing the work of the Lord in light of Jesus' return.

When we began the series, we learned that all churches are messy, but God is in the business of transforming messy churches into beautiful displays of his glory. At the end of the letter, Paul challenges the Corinthians in three ways: (1) To do the...

For hundreds of years, uncertainty was simply accepted as part of life. But our lives, in many ways, seem very certain and stable. This spring has destroyed many of those illusions. In 1 Corinthians 16, Paul deals with the uncertainty brought...

Death was undefeated before Easter, and has been undefeated since. Thankfully, Jesus will return one day soon, and when he does, death will be defeated again - this time forever. We'll learn that through Christ, God gives us eternal victory over...

Many people wonder what heaven will be like, and seek answers (true or false, helpful or unhelpful) to that question. Far fewer people ask what we will be like in the afterlife. Thankfully, Paul doesn't leave us to wonder, as God reveals through...

Paul is going to do some basic logic with the Corinthians – who, keep in mind, live in Greece – the home of Artistotle and Plato and many other great philosophers who were pioneers in the field of logic. He will help them see what would be true if...

On Easter Sunday, we learn about the transforming nature of the Gospel and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus that makes it all possible.

Last week we learned that no matter how gifted we are, we are nothing and gain nothing if we don't use our gifts in love. But love alone isn't enough to build up the body; for that to happen, we have to hear and understand the Word of...

We'll learn that without Christlike love, all signs, knowledge, and sacrifice are nothing.

In the 2nd half of 1st Corinthians 12 we learn that we are one body in Christ with various useful gifts that should not cause division but rather build up the Church and one another.

Taking a look at the second time Paul addresses the Lord's Supper, we will focus on what it means to take the Lord's Supper in an unworthy manner, and how the Supper is a picture of unity only afforded to us in the Gospel.

We'll be talking about the fact that gender isn't only or even primarily a social construct, but something that is assigned to us by God. As a result, it is imperative that we live as men and women according to God's definition of what...

We'll learn that for the glory of God, we must love our neighbors by laying down our rights.
