Genesis 22 stands as not only the climax to the story of Abraham's life, but is a pivotal moment in the Old Testament narrative. It is the story of tests and faith. It's the story of fearing God and believing against all hope. It's a story that leaves us in awe of the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

As Abraham's relationship with God deepens, he continues to struggle with hardships and failures. Through it all God remains faithful and Abraham learns to trust in the eternal nature of God. This week we will consider the Everlasting God and how keeping an eternal perspective is a key to understanding our lives on this earth. 

We've seen Abraham's relationship with God grow since God called him out from his country and his people. And in this section, Abraham pleads with God face-to-face. And what's astonishing, is he pushes and pushes and pushes.  And God keeps agreeing. Come this Sunday to hear what this shows us about Abraham and what it shows us about God.

In chapter 18 of Genesis, three men appear at Abraham's tent and one of them is the Lord!  And they're not so much interested in Abraham as in previous encounters, but in Sarah!  And her response is to laugh.  Come to New King and find out why Sarah laughed.

In Genesis 17, God Almighty appears to Abram to "double-down" on his covenant of the promised seed. Giving Abram the sign of the covenant: circumcision. In spite of Abram's unfaithfulness and lack of integrity, God reaches down in faithfulness and integrity renewing his covenant with Abram. 

Everyone deals with doubt. We learned in Genesis 15 that God is gracious to us, assuring us of his promises. But what happens when we allow our doubts to turn into sin? Genesis 16 teaches us what happens when we turn to expediency rather than waiting on the promises and purposes of God. 

If there's one thing true about our Christian life, it's that we all deal with doubts.  We doubt God and we doubt ourselves.  And Abram, the Father of the Faith, is no different.  Join us this Sunday for chapter 15 of Genesis where Abram voices his doubts to God and God responds in two amazing ways.

Last week, in Genesis 12, we saw the call of Abram and God's sevenfold promise to him. Abram obeys God's calling but quickly shows that he does not fully trust God's promises. In Genesis 13 and 14 we will see how Abram's faith increases as God deepens the trust and relationship between them. Join us this week as we discover faith-building truths about our God Most High!
