Those who have experienced this new life have the privilege and responsibility to show and share it with others.

This new life is available to anyone, and the Christmas story makes this clear. It is a perfectly orchestrated expression of God’s love for us all.

The new life God offers looks completely different from what the world tells us. Our perspective needs to shift away from ourselves to a selfless love and care for others.

Try as we might, the answer to our problems can’t be found with any amount of money, power, or intelligence. God provided a counterintuitive remedy that no one expected.

God’s plan is perfect, and His instructions are clear. The problem is the free will we were given in the very beginning. We are in a mess of our own creation.

This Thanksgiving weekend, we'll celebrate two traditions in our church life. The first is baptism, where we support and encourage those ready to declare that Jesus is their Savior and leader. We who have experienced God’s grace, forgiveness and love now have the awesome privilege and responsibility to share what we have been given with others. This good news is for everyone!

We are uniquely made in the image of God. With this in mind, we need to discover what it means to live for Him with our whole selves. Our bodies have a lot to do with God and our spiritual development.

It’s a constant challenge to live our lives with true authenticity. There is often a huge discrepancy between the happy images depicted on social media versus how we’re really doing on the inside. If we want a real and vital relationship with God, and others, we must learn to be honest and humble.

In a divided and partisan world, Jesus’ church is called to be a community that is both wide in its diversity and deep in love and respect. If we follow God’s lead, we can be a hopeful example to a broken world.

If we aren’t careful, we can allow influences that are not in our best interest to dictate the pace of our lives. God wants us to work hard at things that matter but not ruin ourselves in the process. We need to discover how to find moments of stillness and prayer, allowing God to speak love and perspective into our lives.

With strong roots, a plant can withstand all kinds of challenges and danger, but without them, even a little problem can be devastating. God wants us to build strong relational roots with Him, and our brothers and sisters, so we can be strong and positive influences.

God wants us to embrace the lifelong process of change that grows from the inside out. Every day is our chance to do things better than the day before.

Seeking to right our wrongs leads to real freedom – both for us and for those we’ve hurt. Forgiveness is something we need to learn to seek often and give freely.
