What exactly does it mean to observe the "sabbath", a day of rest? Is it physical rest, taking a break from your job, finding peace and rest from anxiety, a day to "go to church", a family day, etc? How did Jesus define it? Do you delight in the sabbath?!

As Americans we are great at increasing, expanding, building, and accumulating...but what if our appetite for increasing was the biggest obstacle to us experiencing Jesus in our lives? If we continue to expand within our schedules, budgets, relationships and thoughts, will there be any room for Jesus to take over as our only love and hope and purpose?!

What defines being saved: saying a prayer of faith, or being enabled to follow the blowing of the wind of the Spirit of God? Are our spirit's truly "(re)born from above", or are our minds just informed with truths about God? Can you hear the wind blowing?

Is your life busy…or full? Are you too busy to follow Jesus? How is Jesus calling you to fight for your time and your schedule? Will you fight for what matters most?!

Why do we get so angry about unimportant things, but let the most important things go unaddressed? What is truly worth fighting for?! What did Jesus fight for?! What should Christians fight for?!

When Jesus was invited to socialize with those in his community He said yes...and the miracle of water turning into wine brought glory to God! When you are invited to local social gatherings, do you say yes? Or would you rather stay home? What miracles will you experience if you say "yes"?!

Maybe we should all be more like John the Baptist? Are our lives a witness to the love and power and grace of God? Are we leading people to faith and baptism like John did? Are we a living testimony for Christ?!

Why is the old adage, "an image is worth a thousands words", so true?! When we see something, why is it so powerful and memorable?! God has created us to be images of Him...think of the impact we should have! Are we relying on our words when our actions could be speaking so much louder to the world around us?

Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than receive." Do we believe that? How would the world be different if everyone believed that?! Let's prove it!

If your faith, church, and missional communities don't look a little messy...you're not doing them right! Jesus told a parable about how God invites the most unlikely and unexpected sorts of folks to His feasts and family! May we do the same!
