This week we focus on Jethro’s visit in Exodus 18. What is the purpose of this story in Exodus? Why is it here? Listen as Steve Coleman examines the context connected to chapter 18: Midianites/Amalekites, Israel-slaves to priests, and Moses-a journey of faith. 

As we continue our study of Exodus we see the Israelites in battle. Why did God allow this? They were attacked from the rear, at their weakest part. Listen as Dr. Bill Smith explores the reasons the Amalekites were against God’s people, how the enemy continues to attack us today at our weak points, and how God uses this to sanctify us. 

The desert was a time of testing for the Israelites. Yet they didn’t get that God was testing them for their benefit. We, too, often ask ‘Why are you doing this to me?’ Listen as Julie Coleman takes a look at how we can turn around our thinking to get positive instruction during times of testing.

Have you ever felt like God left you hanging? The Hebrews felt the same way in today’s passage. God’s promise of rescue was being fulfilled but then they found themselves between Pharaoh and the sea. Listen as Julie Coleman shows the need to look to God and trust in His purposes.

Are you willing to trust God for big problems? Through the exodus from Egypt, God was teaching the Jews just how big He is. They had a lot to learn and God took the time to teach them. Steve Coleman continues our study of Exodus by looking at the last plague and the Passover. The tenth plague puts the Passover in context. Understanding the Passover helps us fully appreciate the Lord’s Supper and God’s redemptive plan. Listen as Steve reveals the lessons from the Passover.

This week Joanne Hagemeyer returns to our series by taking a look at the big picture of Exodus thus far. God’s intention and sovereignty can be seen in His pattern of redemption, the promise of a Savior, and the purpose in the plagues.

God was revealing Himself through the plagues. What was it about Pharaoh that made him so blind? Listen as Julie Coleman examines the last three plagues found in Exodus 10-11 and Pharaoh’s response.

Dr. Bill Smith continues our study of Exodus. God’s message to Pharaoh is simple, let my people go. As we explore the first of the ten plagues that God brings on Egypt we see that this is about who is to be worshipped, Pharaoh and the Egyptian gods or the Lord Almighty. What other ‘gods’ are you putting first in your life?

It can be dangerous to pin our hopes on expectations. Moses went to Pharaoh but any expectation of a quick release for the Hebrews was not met. Steve Coleman explains why things got worse after following God’s command. 

Difficult times in life affect us. In our passage today, Moses had a lot of emotional baggage. He was a discouraged and fearful man. Listen as Steve Coleman describes how God addresses Moses’ hurt and need for reassurance. God is also committed to us in what He has called us to do.

Why does life have to be so hard? Julie Coleman digs into that question this week with Exodus 3 as God introduces Himself to Moses and gives him his calling. Listen and discover how the implications in what God said to Moses are still relevant for us today.

Exodus is a peek into the essence of an amazing God. We see Him doing many things at once to bring about His promises and His plan to completion. Listen as Julie Coleman shows how He is on the move in an individual, Moses, in the Hebrew nation, and in the world. He is still on the move in us. He is the same God now as he was then.
