Listen to Part 1 of Albion’s immediate promotion push back to the Premier League, following relegation in the previous campaign. Majestic wins over Ipswich and Burnley, while producing League Cup shocks at Newcastle United and at home to Manchester United. Megson’s Baggies once again showed plenty of resilience and commitment to the cause, as we maintained a top-two position heading into the Chris...

2002-03: The Premiership dream! 09.07.2024

Back in the top flight for the first time since 1986, Albion were proud as punch to be pitting their whits against the big boys once more and showed it with superb victories at Manchester City and West Ham United. Despite ultimately being relegated, this strong spirited Megson team once again gave it everything they’d got in their first ever season in the Premiership. Another Welsh Wizard is born...

Gary Megson’s Baggies were back in the top flight after 16 years of being in the wilderness following spells in the second and third tier of English football. After cutting an 11 point gap over our Black Country rivals Wolves. Albion’s never-say-die attitude and incredible team spirit took them over the line to Premiership glory. Selling one of our star strikers, the Battle at Bramall Lane, missin...

2000-01: Megson’s Marvels 23.06.2024

Gary Megson’s first full season in charge at the Hawthorns was like being on a dream boat as we showed our credentials amongst the elite team’s in the First Division. A team to be proud of that gave it everything as we came within 90 minutes of a Play-Off Final at Wembley, along with beating a Premiership outfit in the Cup. A lovable strike partnership, along with a solid defensive outfit were the...

1999-2000: Sir Gary The Saviour 15.06.2024

A season that began full of fresh optimism following the dismissal of Denis Smith and the appointment of Ex-Premier League Manager Brian Little who came with an excellent reputation. Yet challenges on the pitch and off the pitch accumulated with poor results cost Little his job meaning Albion were searching for their second manager in less than 12 months. A new Chairman in Paul Thompson and a new...

1998-99: Unpredictable Albion 09.06.2024

Denis Smith’s first full season in charge started like a house on fire as we won three out of our first four league games. Our new Ginger Ninja showed his full potential bagging over 30 goals and nearly earning himself a Sports Car as we dipped in and out of the play-off positions. There was also a young Italian bursting on the scene to light up the Hawthorns with his magic tricks. Hear how my rad...

1997-98: A season of two halves 02.06.2024

After a flying start that saw us well in contention for promotion. Manager Ray Hartford shocked all Albion fans by quitting the club. The arrival of new manager Denis Smith didn’t go to plan, but we finished the season strongly in preparation for the next campaign. A bronx hat, another league double over Wolves and a player sponsor were all part of this personal league season story. Sit back and e...

1996-97: Ray to the rescue 28.05.2024

Success in the Isle Of Man to thumping wins over Norwich, QPR and Southend - oh and a Blues double! While a new striker was in Town to give Taylor and Hunt some much needed competition. Another season packed full of fun and Baggies memories as Ray Harford entered B71 following the sacking of manager Alan Buckley to bring exciting times back to the Hawthorns.

1995-96: Almost the Italian job 22.05.2024

A season full of up's and down's, but ending the campaign on a high note. In his full first season in charge, Buckley steered Albion to a comfortable mid-table place after some harrowing bumps along the way. Yet there was still some iconic moments, with Super Bob Taylor and a cup run which almost took us to Wembley. Sit back and re-live it as I also give Sneekes a little pep talk of my own...

1994-95: Buckley's boys 14.05.2024

No fairytale ending for this one, but still some great moments to enjoy in a season we finished strongly. Buckley’s Baggies were transformed following the sacking of Keith Burkinshaw turning the Hawthorns into a fortress. Defeating two of the three newly relegated teams from the Premier League, before beating Wolves again to thumping play-off chasing Tranmere. Sit back and enjoy another Albion cam...

1993-94 Survival at Fratton (ENHANCED AUDIO SOUND) 03.05.2024

After Ossie Ardiles had jumped ship to move to Spurs, following that epic 1992/93 promotion winning campaign, I feared the worst, and it almost happened! But, thanks to a last day win at Portsmouth, we would survive and ensure First Division football would be back at the Shrine again next season. There was a Black Country double over our local rivals Wolves. Enjoy the audio commentary of those one...

1992-93: Wembley Joy 29.04.2024

Re-live this epic season, which is still talked about to this day. 'Ossie's Barmy Army' were on their way back to Division One at the second attempt. This is still one of my favourite ever seasons as a Baggie. Exciting football at it's best. Listen back to how I remember it - packed in with some passionate audio commentary on the games that mattered and didn't matter. It really...
