This week Robert and Jazmin talked through several news items from this week including tragic flooding throughout Kentucky, a new ad from Pamela Stevenson, and Andy Beshear's new podcast.

We welcomed Rep. Joshua Watkins of Louisville to talk to us about his first legislative session this week. He explained his process of trying to improve bad legislation, how the session met his expectations, and his hopes for the future. Before the interview, Robert and Jazmin talked through the rest of Governor Beshear's vetoes, as well as the Kentucky Democratic Party's reorganization.

Jazmin discusses the bills vetoed by Andy Beshear, and Robert talks through a few other items involved former elected executive branch officials in Kentucky.

As of Friday, all the bills that won't be able to survive a veto by Governor Beshear had to be passed -- so Republicans came out big with a lot of secret priorities that were passed at the last second. We went through all of those and meanwhile Jazmin updated the status of all the bills we've been tracking so far this legislative session.

This week Robert and Jazmin run down the priority bills in the House and Senate, as well as a few other bills making their way through the legislature.

Jazmin is back this week and she walked us through the ten bills the Senate is prioritizing.

This week Deric Senecal joined Robert to talk about what's next for Kentucky's US Senate seat now that Mitch McConnell has decided to retire, as well as a session update. Deric also spoke about Louisville Young Democrats.

The legislative session began today, but the big news discussed on this show happened over the break, when the Supreme Court of Kentucky made a significant decision about how the legislature could make rules specifically for Louisville.
