It makes sense to spend the last few days of the year in reflection and prayer with the Lord to seek purpose and direction for the year ahead .

Walking in Gods purpose is a precious gift of mercy and fulfillment

I am learning that it makes good sense to seek the PROVISION and EMPOWERMENT of the Lord for the challenges of the DAY .. the prayer for yesterday cannot suffice for today. It's like physical diet and exercise. It's a daily regime. Otherwise you can never be fit .. This is what Jesus meant when He said we should pray for our daily bread

All things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

It's important as a Christian to be able to discern good from evil. Fellowship with the Word and Spirit of God, will reveal it. Hebrews 5:12-14

Christianity is a spiritual relationship that should affect my emotions, my physical experience and my thoughts and way of thinking.

All our actions have consequences in this life and in the world to come. It's important to strive at staying on the right side of this life and eternity

I need daily grace, wisdom and strength from above for the challenges of every day. Jesus prayed every day. He read the Word of God every day. If Jesus needed daily infilling from the Lord, who am I to think I can survive and thrive with less than daily infilling

Walking with God requires maintaining a daily spiritual diet of the Word, fellowship and prayer. We need daily sustenance for the unique challenges of each day. The prayers of yesterday are not sufficient for the needs of today. Just like yesterday's breakfast cannot cover today's hunger. Luke 9:23: Matthew 6:11-15

Christians are strangers and pilgrims on earth. This is not our home. We are in enemy territory. We are warned to remain on alert at all times. Walking by faith in the Word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit - in prayer always Matthew 13:24-30; John 10:10;

It is important to pay attention to Gods counsel and warning against the things that hold us back. Anything He warns us about is not to be taken lightly ., 2 Corinthians 6:14

1 John 5:7-9 King James Version 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

There is no truth greater than the Word of God. His Word is the anchor to our beliefs as Christians, our compass and direction, our guiding light to truth. And the only trusted way you can know right from wrong.

The Bible is true. There are those who are the elect of God and those who are enemies of Christ and the gospel for life and eternity by choice. Many of these people pretend to be Christians but are actually servants of darkness. Every true child of God needs to be aware and awake to Gods leading in this area Matthew 13:24-43 - The Parable of Wheat And Tares

Walking with the Lord requires carrying a cross daily. It separates you from evil influences and keeps you on a path of focus on His purpose and agenda to the exclusion of all else

Reflecting on the challenges and trials of the past 5 years and how the Lord has pulled me through Matthew 11:28-29

The Lord is doing a new thing in my life and I need to be sensitive to it.

A prayer for God to minister to us as a group at a session tomorrow as He did in the Last Supper .. An invitation for His presence at the table ..
