Music in the Making

It took an extra week but we got them in the studio! Rowan and Drew were our 2 All-State Honors Chorus members back in January and we are so happy to hear about their experiences!

We are SO excited for this one! Tyler Davis is a good friend of Lisa and Art (and Kevin by the end of the episode). All four of us share the Alma Mater of the great WIU and we are so happy to have him on to talk about his educational journey.

Here is the Monmouth-Roseville Madrigal Singers Performance at IMEC 2024. We are so proud of all of the students, directors and ILMEA staff who made this event possible!

We did it, we FINALLY made it a whole calendar year to IMEC! We are so happy to share our enjoyment of IMEC with new guests, our friends from Mercer County, Directors Rusty Ruggles, Sam Whan, and Crispin Hallen...I mean. Fornoff!

After coming out of 2 weeks of Winter Break the gang has had 2 E-Learning Days with more on the way. But good news, if you ordered the first round of merch, your order is in! YAY!

The M-R crew had a great Winter Break spent with family and friends but there is half a school year left and SO much more in store for all things band and choir!

We may have mentioned it last week but there is only so much one can say as an audience member. Dr. Mrs. Martinez returns to share her experience with her amazing Winter Concert from last week and what she us up to post-concert right before Winter Break!

After a bit of a break post-Thanksgiving the gang talks about all the goings on like the Madrigal Dinner, the million concerts we have/have had and...sickness. Christmas Break is quickly approaching friends!

As we were ending the episode, Dr. Mrs. Martinez wanted to stop by and say hello and help us wrap up the episode!

The gang collectively thought this week took forever. And it did. With Thanksgiving on the horizon we have a lot to look forward to and its all for the students and the job we love to do. We also have an impromptu interview with two students and their aspiring career in music education.

The gang talks about how TRAC came and went with still ILMEA District Festival, Madrigal Tour and Dinners, and plenty more still on the way, we remind ourselves why we do it all for: the student's experience. Case closed.

The gang takes some students to one of their favorite events of the year...the Three Rivers ATHLETIC Conference Honor Band and Choir Festival. We catch up with some of our favorite people who happen to be our guests: Alex Binek, Katie Yelm, Kaitlyn McCullough, and El Presidente himself, Curtis Fisher-Oelschaelger (aka Step Daddy Curty). We have a ton of laughs this episode but take time to dive in...

The MITM team comes together to reminisce the days of being in choir and all the opportunities that have come from singing in various ensembles.

The gang chats it up about ILMEA. It's such a unique opportunity for our students but boy, does it take a lot of time from both the student and teacher side of things. Either way it is a great experience to go through!

We start off by recapping our HOCO experience and minisode but we spontaneously talk about one of the greatest parts of M-R: the cultural diversity we experience every day. Our fearless leader Jeff Ewing, High School Principal even stops by to chat about his point of view on why this topic makes M-R great for not just the teachers but the students and community as well.

Homecoming was a whirlwind and even though the gang couldn't get together like normal, we still were able to have a bit of content to get you by this week! Here is an interview with M-R's very own, Dan Potts!
