Mornings at the Cabin

Ollie returned to the country late last week, and decided that the responsible thing to do would be self-isolation for the time being. Wheeler and Lekter check in with him to get a taste (poor choice of words) of his experience getting tested for COVID-19...as well as his current TV watch list!

Yellowknifer Logan Andrew made the north and his "Mullet Mafia" proud by finally taking the leap last month down to Australia for Mulletfest. Yeah, apparently that's a real thing.

Lekter enlists the help of a good friend of the Cabin...to deliver some potentially crushing news to Wheeler. Also Coronavirus is ruining everything, gosh darn it!

Cabin Radio is two years old today! And at least twice as busy as we were in 2018...so like a group of absent fathers who work too much, nothing got planned for our baby. LUCKILY our friends at Folk on the Rocks lined up a HUGE announcement for us this morning - the first lineup announcements for their 40th anniversary show this summer!

Lekter filled in admirably and faithfully yesterday afternoon for Ollie in the on-going Wheeler vs. Ollie Skills Canada competitions...faithfully in that he did about as well as one would expect Ollie to have done...admirably in that he showed up and completed the task at hand.

The 10th annual Dead North Film Festival is in the books! And the 25th annual Snowking Festival has only just begun! What a weekend it was in Yellowknife!

Late February in Yellowknife. Dog poo simmering just under the snow's surface...waiting to reveal how horrible we've all been this past winter. Thank god AJ is out there harassing/shaming citizens into cleaning up after themselves.

AJ remembers his frustrations while being a permanent resident before becoming a Canadian citizen...but forgets his dog's birthday. Priorities, I suppose.

Ollie stepped into the ring to finally face his destiny this past weekend....as a ring announcer for the Fight For Her Kickboxing event in Yellowknife. And Lekter returns from the dead!

Ollie attended a birthday party this weekend for friend of the Cabin, Bridget Rusk. Curiously, Wheeler was not there. Not so curiously, neither was Lekter. Let the fallout begin!

TODAY IS THE DAY! Stacey Smith from Flowers North joins Wheeler and Lekter to determine which date story was the most terrible, and thus, THE WINNER.
