Fasting is not simply something we do when we want something out of God. Fasting is one of the ways God changes our heart – especially toward those most in need. When we read the words of Isaiah 58, we see that fasting is meant to align our heart with God’s heart, especially in regards to injustice and in solidarity with the poor.
