There are some people who profess Christ that are liars, so says the Apostle John. What makes someone a liar? This lesson covers some thoughts on how exactly the blood of Yeshua cleanses us from sin, and encourages us to give love back to Yahweh who loved us first. 

I share how 1 John 1:1 correlates with Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, and what the word of Elohim is. Towards the end of the lesson I discuss how my fellowship with Yahweh and Yeshua blossomed when I realized they were really Father and Son.

Yahweh raised Yeshua from the dead, and it was prophesied to happen before hand by King David. But where did David speak about it?

We are actually commanded in Scripture to memorize the Torah. Have you hidden Yah’s word in your heart? How are you spending your time?

What is a shekel? I cover the amount in silver required for a bride-price in the case of enticement, and then I make some final remarks on dealing with young adults realistically. I also encourage married couples to keep the fire of love burning.

Yeshua is a man. How does that make you feel? This sermon centers in on the first words from Apostle Peter after he finishes quoting prophet Yo’el. Yahweh performed His greatest of all works through a man from Nazareth, and we must believe in this man whom He hath sent. 

An objection I’ve heard given by both atheists and liberal Christians is that the God of the Old Testament required a woman to marry her rapist. I answer that objection in detail here, focusing in on an exceptional footnote in the NET Bible.

Scripturally, a young man is not allowed to marry a young woman if the girl’s Yah-fearing father refuses. This lesson speaks to (1) the bride-price, (2) parenting carefully, and (3) the weightier matters of Torah. 

I cover three key words: entice, virgin, and betrothal. We being looking at and unpacking the intricacies of this law concerning seduction.

The backdrop of the death of Yeshua is covered, as well as some eschatological points from the Olivet Discourse. What does it mean to “call on the name of Yahweh”? The curses of Deuteronomy 28 are also covered, and a shocking realization from Josephus’ recorded history is read.

I cover some preliminary thoughts I’ve had while studying Exodus 22:16-17, namely that a good marriage is key, a woman is a gift to man, daughters are to be given not taken, and intimacy is designed for covenant relationship. I also read and hit some highlights in Genesis 24, ending with a warning to both men and women in the Torah community.

Why is there a difference between keeping (guarding) someone’s money and keeping someone’s animal? What’s the big deal about taking an oath before Yahweh? If you borrow your neighbor’s chainsaw and it breaks, do you have to replace the chainsaw? These questions and more are covered in this lesson, and I end with an important admonition about all or nothing.

We must respect our neighbor’s property, even to the point of making restitution when we caused something to happen unintentionally. Here I cover more on restitution, the concept of property rights, how to handle paying back a person you’ve hurt, and trust having to be earned.

Were there wonders and signs in heaven and on earth during Yeshua and his apostles ministries? How could the sun have been darkened and the moon turn to blood in the first century? And what about the “Day of Yahweh” or “Day of the Lord”? Is that day yet future, or is it somehow past? These topics and more are covered.

I sat down to begin writing my sermons on Exodus 22:5-15 and I ended up writing 5 pages of intro material. I pray it’s a blessing to you.

Some in Christianity have taken a position of total, complete pacifism. Based upon this text in Exodus (and a few others) I believe they are incorrect. At the same time we must consider the balance found in religious persecution. Listen to learn about some intricate details in the book of instruction and how they apply to our modern lives.

We begin a new chapter in our journey through Torah here and look at some particulars in regards to theft and restitution. Why is double restitution required sometimes but five-fold restitution required at other times? I also cover narrative examples of restitution from the mouth of King David and Zaccai. 

The laws pertaining to responsibility and/or negligence do not just apply when a human being is injured or killed, but also when an animal is injured or killed. Domestic animals are their owner’s responsibility. In the last half of this lesson I give a brief refresher course on why we spend time studying the Book of the Law.
