While Joseph and Miriam were at Jerusalem to present Yeshua to Yahweh, Yahweh provided two witnesses in Israel of the promised Messiah. These witnesses were both righteous and devout, and they confirmed that great things were in store for this little baby boy.

I know this because I've heard countless people mention to "check for the fruit of the Spirit" before listening to and following a prophet or preacher. While the Son of Yahweh is mentioned more frequently and fully in the gospels and epistles of the New Testament, it is a reality that the genuine believers of old spoke of the Son of Yahweh in the Old Testament.

This lesson begins a series of lessons on the scriptural view of Messiah. Part one deals with the definition of the word Messiah, the person of Messiah, and the name of Messiah.

An exegesis of Exodus 17:8-16. The primary focus of this lesson is to teach us to use our gifts and talents for the building up of others in the assembly of Yahweh. People are going to need to be served, and we are to serve them in whatever way we are able.

After Miriam went through the process of ritual purification, she and Joseph brought Yeshua to the Temple in Jerusalem to present him to Yahweh seeing he was a firstborn male.

The birth of a Savior, the Messiah, the Master, was first announced, not to kings, but to shepherds. This sovereign act of Yahweh continues to show us that humility is so important in the life of Yahweh's people.

People often ask me, "Matthew, why do you emphasize the law?" This short lesson is a three-fold answer to that question. The real question should be, "Why do pastors NOT emphasize Yahweh's law?"

In Nehemiah 8 we find that there was great joy in Israel when they found it written in the law that they were to observe a feast to Yahweh in the seventh month. We should be just as joyous now when we find it written in the law.

Some people have attempted to say and/or teach that the full moon is the first day of the lunar month. Examining Psalm 81 in its original context dispels such an idea.

When a person adheres to the Biblical way of living they often hear others speak of them as strange. When we obey Yahweh we will seem strange to the world, and even to the church world, but the things we do are approved in the Bible.

Scripture teaches us that the Creator has appointed certain special times on His calendar. We are commanded, not suggested, to worship Him at these times in particular ways. We should do our very best to be obedient in this.

Each of us has had a great amount of mercy poured out upon us by a kind heavenly Father. It behooves us to imitate Yahweh our Father and show the same mercy towards our fellow man when they ask for forgiveness. At times, we even take the high spiritual act of forgiving people when they do not ask.

The new moon of the 7th month is assuredly a memorial of something. But what is it that we are to memorialize on this day? Listen to learn from Scripture the answer to this question that will help you be able to celebrate this day properly.

Modern day Christianity has taken the birth of the Messiah and mixed it with many customs of heathen worship. We must rid ourselves of such customs, but in doing so let us not throw out the birth of the Messiah. He was born, in a small town called Bethlehem, and to talk about or even sing about this occurrence is a wonderful thing.

If the portions of the New Testament written in Greek (and the Septuagint for that matter) translated the Hebrew word into Greek as "theos," then why can't we translate this same Hebrew word into English as "god?"

If Gad/God is a word we shouldn't call Yahweh by, why in the world didn't Jacob rebuke his wife Leah for naming her child this name, if indeed the name stems from a heathen idol? These are questions that I believe are fully answered in this lesson.
