Mission of Divine Mercy

This is the second in a little part series on the Book of Revelation. What is the mysterious beast like a lamb?  How does it relate to what is happening today in the Church? Truth and Hope.

First, a brief perspective on the election of Leo XIV. Then the first in a 3-part series on the Book of Revelation. It is for us in our tribulation.

The readings today give great light for crisis in the Church today.  They reveal our Risen Lord, who continues to guide His Church both through the Hierarchy, and through the "charismatic" and prophetic graces.

Today, the Book of Revelation and St. Faustina remind us that God's prophetic messages are instruments of His Mercy for our suffering world.

"My Mercy is not weakness. Was it weakness, My children, to endure the stench of a world covered in sin, to endure the lies, betrayal, hatred of those I came to save?  Was it weakness to endure the traitor?  To endure the lashes, the thorns, the nails and spear?  Was it weakness, My children, to endure the complete abandonment of the Father in My Hour of Pain?" In His Easter Resurrection, God acted with power, when there was no solution, humanly. Today, the Church is living her agonizing Passion. But preparing for God's divine action in her.

The Mother of Jesus suffers with Him and supports Him. And He offers her to us to support and comfort us.

Why does God permit so many attacks against the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass? How does Holy Thursday, and the whole Paschal Mystery, shed a light of hope?

How can we understand these painful times for the Church?  By looking at the Passion, the Paschal Mystery of Jesus.

We are often weighed down by our past - like the woman caught in sin. Or not willing to let go of it - like Saul of Tarsus. Jesus offers us the opportunity to become "a new creation".

St. Faustina, in her Diary, shares a conversation between God and a sinful soul, leading it to His Mercy.

The burning bush. Moses is overwhelmed by a theophany, a manifestation of God. What does this have to do with the Reconquest that He has announced to us?

The Transfiguration and Abram's experience, are "Theophanies", that is manifestations of God.  Do these still happen today?  What should be our attitude?

The mystic Maria Valtorta gives us a description of this dramatic encounter of Jesus with Satan. It illuminates his tactics against us.

St. Paul writes: "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" We share an unpublished message from the Lord, given several years ago, encouraging us to not fear these trials.

St. Paul reveals marks or gifts that Resurrected bodies will enjoy. They motivate us in our trials on earth.

How can we keep going when trials and sadness weigh us down? The Holy Spirit teaches us to be realistic and gives us authentic hope.
