How often do you come to the Bible looking for something specific? So often we go to the Bible expecting it to tell us something. Unfortunately, you will often see only what you are looking for. As we mature in reading the Bible it's important for us to transition to letting the scriptures shape us and change us instead of just confirm what we already believe.

What does scripture mean to you? Paul wrote to Timothy that the scriptures are able to make us wise to salvation and that they were useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training. As believers, we must let the scriptures shape the way we see the world. "There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death." Proverbs 14:12

The Bible is not just any book. It's not designed to be read and put on a shelf. It's not just for information or entertainment. The Bible is designed to shape our worldview and give us a framework for how to go through life. There are timeless truths that we need to be regularly reminded of. This requires a level of intentionality in our reading and our approach to the scriptures.

Jesus sacrificed his life on the cross so that we could freely experience the presence of God. In His presence we are transformed into His image, learning what is good, acceptable, and perfect. We have been invited into relationship with God and to experience his presence. It's time to go

A couple of the biggest challenges to reading the Bible is feeling like we don't enjoy it or don't get much out of it when we do read it. Maybe we just don't have the right framework for what it should look like. Ryan and Megan Burrow have experienced these challenges and have found a method to overcome them.
