WELL, I'VE MANAGED TO DO ANOTHER NAKED NEWS. YOU KNOW, THE FACT THAT THIS IS A HOBBY FOR ME THAT BRINGS ME TOTAL JOY IS LIKE SELF-REWARDING. MY INTENTION FAR EXCEEDS MY PRESENTATION. IF YOU'RE READING THIS, LISTEN TO THE DAMN SHOW!

I HAD A BALL DOING THIS NAKED NEWS. I ALWAYS START WITH TREPIDATION AND AS SOON AS I START RECORDING, I GET INTO THE FAMILIAR GROOVE I'VE BEEN DOING FOR 90 WEEKS IN A ROW. THEN, NAKED NEWS TAKES ON A LIFE OF ITS OWN AND FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO, I THINK THE WHOLE WORLD IS LISTENING TO ME. WHAT ARE YOU DOING RIGHT NOW?

MY LISTENERSHIP IS GROWING AND I AM FREAKING OUT. I AM DOING THIS THING, BECAUSE SOMEBODY HAS TO, AT LEAST IN MY MIND. I AM LIKE THE GUY IN "NETWORK", WHO CLASSICALLY SCREAMED OUT HIS WINDOW, " I AM AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT!"MAYBE, ONE DAY, THEY WILL FIND THESE NAKED NEWS PODCASTS AND CONSIDER THEM CLASSICS. I RECORDED THIS A DAY EARLIER THAN USUAL, BECAUSE THERE WAS TOO MUCH NEWS ALREADY. I COVER A LOT THIS TIME AND GET LOST IN MY OPINIONS AS USUAL. HONESTLY, THERE ARE SO MANY LESS SIGNIFICANT THINGS YOU COULD DO, RATHER THAN LISTEN TO NAKED NEWS. INVEST SOME TIME IN THE WORLD AROUND YOU.

THIS ONE IS LOADED WITH NEWS AND I DID MY BEST TO MAKE SENSE OF IT ALL AND PROBABLY TRIPPED UP PLENTY. FLAWS AND ALL, WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO HEAR STUFF LIFE THIS? THE ANSWER IS NO WHERE! GIVE A LISTEN.

CHRIST, I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT TO SAY AT THIS POINT. THIS IS MY 85TH WEEKLY PODCAST AND FOR REASONS I CAN'T EXPLAIN, I FEEL DEDICATED TO DOING WHAT I AM DOING. I HAVE THIS FEELING IN MY GUT THAT IF I DON'T TELL YOU ABOUT SOME OF THE STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HEAR ABOUT IT AND YOU SHOULD.

Imagine that for some stupid reason, you decided to cut and paste a week's worth of news stories you gave a shit about and then recorded them in an incredibly unprofessional manner. You would then have your very own Naked News. So, I am doing this for you!

Got another 30 minutes of news, opinions and occasional rambling. Did you ever feel there was something you just had to do and keep doing, not being totally sure why? Well, that's how I feel about Naked News. Listen, I know I'm no podcast legend, with thousands of loyal listeners, I am just one guy, who gives a shit about what's going on and thinks you should, too.

You know, I wish I had thousands of listeners, but not for reason that might seem more obvious to you. I just don't think there are many people talking about the news the way I do,  let alone selecting the stories I choose to share. I can't believe I take Naked News so seriously, but I do. Please listen and share with your friends, there is nothing in it for me.

I really enjoyed doing this second edition of Naked News. It just feels like me, talking to you and trying to share some news with you that you probably ought to know. Man, if I don't tell you, who the hell else is going to take the time?

Here the news like you've never heard it before. Naked News is my take on the news of the week, delivered the way I would want to talk to you about. It's raw and makes, devoid of all pretense.

I am trying to make more room for opinion. I still believe in the sanctity of facts, but defer to the power of emotion. I feel more inclined to share how I feel, at least about the facts. I sometimes wish there were more listeners, but I would like to think I’d still be doing what I do, how I feel about what’s going on, and  speaking to our better selves. It’s all we got. Thank you

I haven’t even listened to #68 yet, but I enjoyed recording it, even more than usual. It felt good to be giving voice to so much of what is not spoken about. I know it ain’t much, but it’s my way. Reading Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot at the end was the highlight for me. Thanks for listening.

I do this news podcast, because I feel I have to, not because I think I am any good at it. With that in mind, in my Yemen story, I couldn’t remember the Shia as being in conflict with the Sunni, both Muslims, go figure! Plenty of good stuff in this one.
