i was feeling sad because the world is the world. So I played a punchy game.

okay maybe I'm a naff dad, and maybe the fan is incredibly loud. But hey, more insight into my life I guess ies.

I play Pokémon cards by myself on GBC. the music's pretty good 😊

In which our hero gains allies, saves a princess, and manages to have his first idiotic casualty.

in which we introduce our dramatis personae and commence the tale. our heroic prince nearly pays dearly for his hubris. also someone in the back row can't stop talking over the fight scenes.

it's a fun game 🤷‍♀️ felt like playing it so I played it.

there's a whole bunch of me venting I must admit. it's a bit of a stressy time to be a Mike so if you're not into a northerner having a moan I understand completely.

so there's ten minutes of me not understanding how to play a football game followed by me just nattering for ages.

wowsers this one doesn't go to plan! might be a long time until episode 17 shows up 😅

More hanging out with the person who agreed to have kids with me. We play some of Escape the Dark Castle, a game with sublime visual design that feels a bit like Darkest Dungeon, a bit like old pen & paper RPGs, and a bit like Fighting Fantasy. Gruesome and the blackest black. Cat Lady meanwhile is about collecting cats.

So listen to me trying to find time to play a game that didn't actually feel that rewarding to actually play. While absolutely knackered, and it turns out poorly too! Might as well leave a mini review based on the three or four missions I've played, for the types to read podcasts descriptions. From what I have seen this isn't exactly an incredibly deep experience, it's turn based tactics in a fair...

Ben really showing that he knows how to blow the proverbial out of a fellow piggy. Troy meanwhile isn't really using his new equipment because it's bloody difficult to judge the angle on a mortar. Also Frost continues to no-scope...

Ashley has got back into board games HARD! We're not always good at them. The baby is predictably fine sleeping in her own bed 😊

I am secretly happily married.

I'm a fan of the occasional long title. So we take hogshead this time around which unfortunately pits us against the yellow team. There is some very uncomfortable humour of the variety you'd think a member of the 1980's UK alt comedy scene wouldn't be partaking in... Seems a bit Bernard Manning to me. Perhaps I'm being over sensitive but it's a smidge uncomfortable.

I'm a bit knackered in general but I decided to play some Dong Dong one a PC that was halfway through having a stroke. So yeah, I'm a bit distracted but I'm not as distracted as I am in the sim city recording I just did for passalong pod. Christ that didn't go well.

It's one I remember from my childhood. It's still proper good it is.

I have opinions that are positive but may still get me in vaguely hot water.

Christ I'm shit at the Marvel end of 90s Capcom games. I genuinely don't get my lack of ability at them. Why do I find them so much harder than Darkstalkers?

Hey it's a kind of clunky fighting game based on three animé that are the same animé. Go watch G Gundam, especially if you are Troytlepower.

Enjoying a silly Dreamcast action RPG because it's a fun thing.

Probably getting a bit too real late at night being daft, but the flashy light machine makes brain feel better while I force my emotions onto an MP3 file. Cheaper than therapy!

So right... Revengers of Vengeance isn't the best 2d fighter I've ever played. But it's really interesting. I only played the arcade mode here and I think that might have been a mistake because it has a whole RPG mode that's low key actually amazing as an idea. Also the presentation for 1994 is just delicious.
