Mike & Jon Got It Going On

As we head into Balloonfest Weekend, we went up, up and away in a beautiful balloon with Bonnie Runyan, talked Open Mic Day at Torch 180 with Rhonda Callahan and got crumbs all over the place on Pecan Sandie Day.

We went hands-free with Rich Perlberg on the new cell phone law, talked about embarrassing purchases and then finished with an eclair on Donut Day.

We talked Backpacks for Kids with Robin Schutz from Great Start Livingston (and tried not to get into the paste), decided that the best form of camping is staying in a hotel and the took a selfie on Selfie Day, although Mike refused to participate, making it a self-selfie.

We got an AI Ashley update during our Dio Theatre Entertainment Break, went to the fake Sports Hall of Fame with JD's Toss Back Trivia and then discussed Dad Bod Ken.

We sauntered into a conversation with Mark Howell about Fund A Life's "Drive to Survive", got the lowdown on Micro Wrestling, dirty radishes and debated Garfield versus Puss N' Boots.

We chatted up Mac Hawes from Great Harvest Bread Company in Brighton and were relieved to hear his feelings about raisins matched ours, got the Bunco update from Bonnie, diagnosed Torch 180's food truck problem (not really) and then had a false ending.

We met AI Ashley, the lame robotic DJ, as we delved into the world of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the creative arts, talked about stinky, dirty cars and tried to picture The Boss in his tighty-whities.

We announced the results of the Rules Committee before all hell broke loose and we learned hidden King family secrets, pondered the use of raisins and Sir Mick-a-Lot.

We headed to Room 11 for Sweathog Toss Back Trivia, but not before pre-gaming with Eight is Enough references. Then we discussed garlic press usage before promoting our GIGO Team for the Walk to End Alzheiner's.

We broke out the mallets and hopped on the ponies as we chatted with Emmalyn Wheaton with the Detroit Polo Club about the Hartland Polo Classic. Then Susan (aka Cougar) gave us a review of what she said was 90 minutes of pure bliss before we speculated about filibuster pee breaks.

We watched Lindsay walk, made Bonnie swear and talked Fun in the Ville with Rhonda from Torch 180.

It was a true Boomer Cringefest as we bitched about new-fangled car fobs, debated what constitutes distracted driving and recalled the days of making our own ice cream. Then we got a surprise call from Cougar about the Less We Knew.

We had an impromptu duck join the show before bellying up to the Cheers bar. We hyped the GIGO Walk Team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Then we finished by going commando.

We talked quality beer with JD in Toss Back Trivia before shifting gears to roast our beans with Nick Rouech of MiBlendCoffee.com . Then we got the White House YoYo report before whipping out the Tony Weiner podcast.

We chatted up Steve DeBruyne from The Dio about their upcoming production of Lost in Yonkers, then we heard from Cougar about her tool with attachments that made her happy. After we pulled ourselves out of the gutter, we imagined a reboot of the Six Million Dollar Man with a bionic walker.

The equipment was a bit hungover after our big night at Eternity Brewing, then we were on the fritz with Cristian Labor from the CTH Improv Group as they get set to do a show Saturday at the Historic Howell Theater and we finished up imagining what a fight with Paul McCartney might look like.

We lifted a glass of Mike & Jon ale at Eternity Brewing in Howell for Mike & Jon Night to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our special guests included Rebecca Foster, Nick Proctor, Tim Robinson, Rich Perlberg, Nicole Colley, Jordan Genso & many more!!

We heard from Captain Tom Kiurski of the Brighton Area Fire Authority as he gets set to retire after 43 years in the fire service, the last ten as Lead Instructor of the Howell Schools Fire Academy. He was joined by Mike Witt, who helped launch the academy back in 2012.

It was a Cougar Monday on a Tuesday, we had a Strange Brew with JD for Toss Back Trivia and then whipped out the fire snake for our Two Cent History Lesson.

It was a show of multi-syllable words, including some choice swear words about the weather, chatted with Bonnie Runyan about her reunion banquet and then got the delicious word on Torch 180's June menu.

We got the beat as we talked with Steven Vimr about the upcoming Drum Circle at CUUB in Brighton, took a slow roller to first with Rich Perlberg and the Tigers dilemma on how to (or how not to) play Miggy in his final year and then brown-bagged it on National Wine Day.

We got into some taco talk with Steve Pilon from El Arbol in Downtown Brighton, learned about Finley Breeze and broke the news of Kraft's new cheese slice wrapper.

It was a Cinderella story for Mike in Toss Back Trivia, then we took a walk from our desk before deciding to say 'Nevermind' to Nirvana.

Ethan Whitesell from Eternity Brewing gave us the lowdown on the Mike & Jon Ale they'll be serving on June 1st, then it was to corn nuggets, ball wash and hiding from our wives.

We unveiled the winner of the Mike & Jon Brew poll, talked class reunions with Bonnie Runyan, got artistic with Rhonda from Torch 180 and then got serenaded by Susan (aka Cougar) doing her best Marilyn Monroe imitation.
