Tobit 13:1-18  Father Anthony uses the Book of Tobit to demonstrate the importance of praising God for His gifts and remaining faithful even through difficult challenges.

1 Samuel 17:31-54  Father Anthony uses the story of David and Goliath to remind us that just as David had the five stones to prevail over Goliath, we can invoke the five wounds of Jesus Christ to achieve victory over those who would harm us.

Deuteronomy 30:1-20 Father Anthony encourages us to partake of the Sacraments of confession, holy communion and prayer to prepare our hearts to receive God’s mercy this Divine Mercy Sunday.

Deuteronomy 4:25-31 Father Anthony encourages us to give up our idols and abandon our sins, allowing ourselves to turn toward God for forgiveness.

Numbers 14:4-20 Father Anthony uses the story of the Israelites traveling through the desert to teach us that we can trust in the Lord to overcome our obstacles.

Leviticus 25:1-55 Father Anthony uses the words of God speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai to encourage us to find restful periods in our lives amidst the daily struggles so as to celebrate the graces God has given us.

Leviticus 16:1-22 Father Anthony explains that we can pray the Divine Mercy chaplet as a way to offer God atonement for our sins. 

Exodus 34:4-9 Father Anthony uses the story of God revealing his attributes to Moses as evidence of why we should bow down to show reverence for His compassion, grace, loyalty and love. 

Exodus 20:1-6 Father Anthony uses the first of the Ten Commandments to explain that “idols” are not always physical objects and that during this Lenten season, we should do an examination of conscience to give up those addictions and bad habits that interfere with our relationship with God.

Exodus 15:1-18 Father Anthony uses the miracle of Moses parting the Red Sea as a call for us to continually recognize the gifts in our lives and thank God daily for His blessings.

Genesis 32:9-12 and 22-32 Father Anthony uses the story of Jacob wrestling with the Angel to demonstrate that when we surrender our will and trust God, we are then blessed by Him.

Genesis 45:4-15 and 50:15-21 Father Anthony uses the story of Joseph forgiving his brothers to encourage us to ask Jesus to heal our wounds so that we may also forgive those who have sinned against us.

Genesis 22:1-19 Father Anthony uses the story of Abraham’s faithfulness to God to demonstrate how steadfast faith in the face of tests can deepen our spirituality and connection to God.

Genesis 18:22-33 Father Anthony implores us to be bold in our prayers with God as it is His desire is to show us great mercy.

Genesis 18:1-8 Father Anthony encourages us to show hospitality and care for others just as Abraham showed to his heavenly guests.

Genesis 15:7-21 Father Anthony uses the story of Abraham as an example of how God always brings about a greater good from our sacrifices to Him.

Genesis 12:1-9 Father Anthony uses the story of Abraham’s obedience to God to encourage us to have faith in God’s plan when he is calling us out of our comfort zones.

Father Anthony explains that God’s covenant with Noah assures us that we can look to God for the rainbow after life’s storms.

( Genesis 6:11-14) Father Anthony encourages us to use the story of Noah’s ark as an example of how we all need an Ark, a place of refuge, for prayer and contemplation during tumultuous times.

Father Anthony uses the story of Cain and Abel to demonstrate how important it is to express gratitude to God for the talents of others and ourselves rather than to allow envy to creep in.

Genesis 3:14-15 Father Anthony uses the disobedience of Adam and Eve to demonstrate God’s prophecy of hope despite our sins.
