Many times, when we as believers talk about what the Bible says about money we have a tendency to set it apart from the rest of the text as if it has no relevance to what God wants to say or how God wants to interact with us as his children. When we isolate this issue of money we miss the bigger picture which is really about living, giving, and caring for ourselves and for others.

Daniel is a picture of integrity. This guy was willing to face the lions den to stand for his beliefs. Daniel's relationship with God was so tight that he refused to serve any other god or king. Stones served two purposes in the Bible, 1. A memorial for something amazing God had done. 2. Condemnation for breaking the law (stoning). When the stone was rolled away on Easter morning our condemnation was rolled away and Jesus became for us the cornerstone (or memorial) of the church. In todays day and age of independence and entrepreneurship the word obedience is seen as something negative and oppressive. The funny thing about this is that while we claim our independence many times we are also praying, God show me what to do! 1 John 3:1a asks us to behold what manner of God has for us but how do we intrepret that when we blow it? What we discover is that unlike humans God does not change.
