The Castanet Club at the University of Newcastle Orientation Ball 1983. Glen Miller wasn't there. A good thing.

Recorded in 1986 this song was always an unforgettable moment in the live show. Featuring haunting vocals from Nastassaja Bassi (Jacqueline Amidy)and the virtuoso violin of Kid Paganini (Kathy Bluff). Audio restoration by Geoff Overmyer.

Warren Coleman, who played Bowling Man in The Castanet Club, drops in to Maynard International Studios to return his VHS player. Can Maynard look like he has a life with only a Barbara Eden photo and a 1982 calendar? Not a chance, but enjoy this 2021 episode of The Odd Couple.

Bunga Bunga 67 surprises the world with a vision of hope, whimsy and frippery. Just what you need in these trying times. Learn where Kyneton is, experience the bass guitars of war and get yourself a decent super hero psychologist. Tim takes a journey to 1990s Canberra in his Tim Tunnel, Maynard defenestrates himself via the 1960s and they both answer the percussion based question that has split Au...

Recorded in 1986 this was a live favourite. Featuring the golden vocals of Lance Norton. One of the first songs a young Castanet Club band learned in 1982 while the house band for the actual Castanet Club in Burwood St, Newcastle. Audio restoration by Geoff Overmyer.

Viva Bob Vegas is the first live tour in 5 years for legendary Australian (very) funnyman Bob Downe. Relax as Bob takes Maynard on a tour of his career and his favourite moments from his latest show. Touring now to Brisbane, Brunswick Heads, Sydney & Melbourne.

It’s Bunga Bunga 66! You know what that means? Tim Ferguson and Maynard are two thirds of the way to the Devil’s number while still being only one third in reality. This show Tim & Maynard take you on a 30 minute adventure that has bears, baths and bugger all to do with reality. Tim’s been to Adelaide and Maynard has never been to me. Your Crankmail is answered but very little else.

Bunga Bunga 65 finds Tim Ferguson and Maynard hard at work making Australia a better place by mocking Adelaide and parts of Melbourne. This pithy Bunga Bunga 65 finds Tim in a mood to tell off ABC legal, while Maynard is puzzled at the amount of Barry Crocker records he seems to own.

Australia’s Coldest 100 returns in January with some world class musical awkwardness that only Australia can produce. From The Bum Dance to Song of Wollongong, this list of 100 songs about Australia or by Australians (who may have received bad career advice) is a must for fans of the musical road less travelled. The Coldest 100 is the creation of Andrew Sholl. He’s been featuring it on Twitter sin...

Bunga Bunga 64 comes live to you from Tim’s lounge room with the help of Richard Saunders. We fully promise that as usual, don’t expect too much. Tim has been making art, Maynard has been making a nuisance (of himself). You’ll believe a cat can fly after this mystical journey into murk.

The Planet Maynard entry for the 2020 Australian Podcast Awards. They only want 15 minutes. So this will be cut in half. Shame to waste it, find out what has been happening at Planet Maynard this past year.

Bunga Bunga 63 brings the joy of film, music and maritime safety right up your astral plane. Tim Ferguson and Maynard once again hold aloft their disappointing splendour of sound. This time it’s serious film critic vs comedy and Tim takes it personally. Maynard ponders that Whitney Houston might have saved the Titanic. So as usual Bunga Bunga leaves a mess.

Bunga Bunga 62 ponders the imposing amount of Crankmail that was slipped under the front door this week. Tim Ferguson & Maynard soothe a troubled nation using the well known therapeutic tools of cocaine, cats & Canberra. We argue over dancing, and laugh at a well known Australian capital city. We give important tips on professional presentations, including the appropriate use of the word “lick”.

George Hrab, is the fun filled science communicator-adjacent, overly-talented musician from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This 30 minutes has the usual wide ranging and seemingly random topics. From humble beginnings, overcoming the shame of Moonraker being the his first James Bond film he saw, to performing around the world solo, with a string quartet or his usual 9 piece funk band The Philadelphia Funk...

Maynard interviews the mighty Tom Jones for Australian radio Triple J in 1988, just before Tom released “Kiss” in Australia, and then for 2SER, backstage at Sydney Entertainment Centre after his 1995 concert. Hear the legend, his voice, and his secret of long lasting pants.

Bunga Bunga 61 has Tim Ferguson & Maynard discovering a powerful medical phenomenon, Herd Humility. Kitler reaps his revenge upon Tim for showing him far too much affection. Maynard asks to you those two important questions you have to answer, before you are allowed out of lockdown.

Bunga Bunga 60 has Tim & Maynard keeping Australia up to date on the things that count. Distracting zombies with online streaming and the fate of that possum in Maynard’s shed. They take Crankmail on Bond, boobs, and a rather feisty Dachshund from Perth calls into the Alan Jones show to counter the issues brought up last time by Tim’s cat.

Maynard gets Tim Ferguson on the Bungaphone for an action packed and speculation filled Bunga Bunga 59. Don’t know where all this will end? Neither do Tim nor Maynard, but in a show that somehow connects 3 different native animals, a cat and Alan Jones you are assured to be no wiser by the end of this travesty of a mockery. Your Crankmail is answered, Tim addresses the country’s lack of panic buyi...

Bunga Bunga 57 brings poor advice and even worse lifestyle choices to you once again. We hear from Tim on his new cat, Star Trek’s best movies, burlesque as a tax dodge, inappropriate dress for time travel and why cows and mining don’t mix. Tim and Maynard also dive deep into the burning social issue of feline appropriation. We also put our political predictions where our Trump is, by calling the...

Bunga Bunga 56 returns for 2020 to save you from an expensive haircut. Tim Ferguson is sporting the latest look in Summer festival fashion, his sustainable “conflict haircut”. No one died for the look he has this month, described by Green Left Weekly as “no justice, no pants”. We also introduce you to the newest member of the Bunga Bunga family. Only the big issues in Bunga Bunga 56. We answer you...
