Joseph’s brothers are tested and brought back once again. Joseph reveals himself as their brother and deals kindly with them, recognizing God’s intention all along.

Famine takes the brothers down into Egypt where they encounter Joseph. Being tested by Joseph they’re sent home to Jacob and return to Egypt with Benjamin. Jesus addresses questions about the Sabbath clearly stating He is Lord over the Sabbath.

Joseph interprets dreams, is restored in Egypt and is lifted up to second in command under Pharaoh. The steadfastness of Joseph under adversity is our example.

Judah betrays Tamar and is deceived by her in return. Joseph succeeds in Egypt followed by his false imprisonment. Jesus equality with God, the two resurrections.

Joseph dreams, jealousy ensues and he’s sold off into slavery. Jesus heals the paralytic and calls Mathew (aka Levi, the tax collector).

Jacob’s daughter is avenged by Simeon and Levi in Shechem. God reassures Jacob the the promises of the Abrahamic covenant will be fulfilled.

Jacob traveling to Israel wrestles with God and is met by Esau. Jesus teaches his disciples plainly “I’ve come to die so that I may pay the price for the sins of the world and be raised on the 3rd day.”

Jacob prospers in the land of Haran and is blessed with many sons but flees secretly with his entire family, livestock and possessions due to Laban’s treachery. The story concludes with Jacob and Laban making a covenant between them.

Abraham’s treachery with Abimelech through Sarah. Isaac’s birth and God’s intervention of a sacrifice. The first disciples are called.

God reaffirms a son to Abraham and Sarah. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah followed by the deception of Lot by his daughters.

Abram’s promised a son.  Sarai (Sarah) misinterprets God's promise of a son to Abram (Abraham) and gives Hagar to Abram as a wife to bear a son for them. God tells Abraham He will bless Sarah and she will bear a son, Isaac and the covenant of circumcision.

Job‘s last attack on his faithfulness to God comes from a young man named Eliud who believes that Job is suffering because he is prideful and deserves God’s judgment.

Job continues to complain against His suffering.  Mark begins to explain the Ministry of Jesus and the transition from the Old Testament Law to New Testament Grace through John the Baptist.

Job‘s seventh and eighth speech in which he defends God‘s Majesty yet at the same time questioning why God seems to allow the wicked to Prosper.

Job cries out to God.  Knowing God is just he justifies his complaints and wishes for death.  Job reproves his friends for being no help. 

The beginning of the Story of Job and his journey of having his faith tested. Also, the beginning of the Gospel of John recording where Jesus is presented as the pre existing one, the Word of God that was with God and was God.

The wickedness of mankind caused God to have Noah build an arc, saving his family along with animals of each kind before he flooded the earth. 

The fall of man in the garden of Eden. Jealousy and rebellion consume Cain resulting in Abel’s death. The continuing descendants of Adam.
