Having empowered us to mature from childishness to maturity, the Lord Jesus now commands us to stand up and walk. That walk is the walk of love and it is marked by  truth, edification, and forgiveness.

God has given us an inheritance in his Kingdom, and with that inheritance comes a kingdom-identity. And although we struggle to live in sync with that identity, Christ  empowers us more and more to do so. We must see what is unfitting for saints, but (more importantly) we must understand who made us and keeps us as saint—Jesus himself.

Light is one of the most powerful images in all of Scripture. In this sermon we see how God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit— is the light and  makes us the light. As Christ shines upon us and the Spirit illuminate our hearts, we shine the glory of God in a darkened world.

It's not enough to know some things about Jesus. We must know and trust him . And when we come to know him, that knowledge m ust now develop that knowledge into wisdom.  That wisdom is nothing but the "skill" of Christian living. In this sermon, we begin to see what that living looks like.

Paul has confirmed that the church is one body , unified by the Holy Spirit. In this passage, we learn that this unity is also the work of the Lord Jesus from heaven. In this special joint service with St. John's UCC the week before hosting a community VBS, we turn our hearts to Jeremiah 29 to see God's vision for a city of peace. This city is the the heavenly Jerusalem, but while we wait for this heavenly city to come down (Rev. 21), how should we act? We learn how in from God's Word to Jeremiah.

Every family needs help. Whether single, married, parenting, empty-nesters, or any other version of home life—we all have deep struggles that come out in the privacy of our own homes.
