Lee Tasseff, President of Destination Mansfield/ Richland County and Jodie Perry, CEO of the Richland Area Chamber, joined "LOCAL TALK" on WMAN Tuesday to explain and share details being the branding project that is back underway for Richland County.

Dr. Julie Chaya from Richland Public Health called into WMAN this week to share important vaccine info about the "Count On Me RC" Campaign to educate the public about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Ralph Mahalak from the Buckeye Superstore in Shelby phoned into WMAN to inform the public and area farmers about a cool project that is starting up next week. He talked about the Ag Rally and how people can take advantage of some great opportunities.

Josh Kaple dropped by WMAN to inform listeners that the Mansfield Flea Market and Antique Show is still going on and will start back up at the end of June. The show had to stop because of COVID-19 and the Show will happen the last full weekend of each month, February - November.

Reed Richmond from Richland Public Health stopped by the studio to share important details on what people need to know as health orders in Ohio are being lifted, but COVID-19 is not gone.

The Madison Lady Rams Softball team will play for a Regional Title on Sunday for just the 3rd time in school history. Madison will take on Keystone at 2 pm in Tiffin for a spot in the state final four. The Wendy’s Spring Classic Softball tournament is set to take place Thursday, April 15th– Saturday, April 17thin Ashland. Friday, March 26th, is the 43rd News Journal All-Star Classic Boys Basketball game at Lexington High School. Tip off is set for 7:30 pm on WMAN and will see 31 area seniors play in the final game of their high school career. Richland Public Health Commissioner, Sarah Humphrey, spent time with WMAN on Thursday ( March 25th) to share how the rollout is going for the COVID-19 vaccine in Richland County, when and where will the mass vaccination site be held locally in the coming weeks.

State Senator Mark Romanchuk made a monthly visit ( via the phone) to spend time with WMAN and update the public on what he's has been working on in Columbus. Romanchuk represents the 22nd District, which covers Richland and Ashland county.

Ontario boys basketball coach Joe Balogh retired this week after 36 years, 598 wins and 21 league and Sectional Titles. Joe spent time with WMAN on Friday morning on his reason to step away, coaching while the court was named after him and some great memories he will never forget.

Shelby Schools Superintendent Tim Tarvin shared the details of the district's plan for a new $4 million Athletic Complex, which got board approval on Monday. Work will start in June and hopes to be complete by August of 2023.
