Jesus not only taught his disciples how to pray - he also prayed for them. In John 17, we find the longest recorded prayer of Jesus, revealing the heart of our Lord as he prays not only for his first disciples, but also for us, his followers today.

At first glance, it’s surprising that the disciples—who walked with Jesus and ministered in his name—would ask, “Lord, teach us to pray.” But prayer is something we can become overly familiar with, even jaded toward, despite how central it is to life with God. In response, Jesus offers what we now call the Lord’s Prayer—a simple, powerful pattern that still teaches us to pray today.

Sometimes we can only see the problem in front of us—but God sees the full picture. In this message from 2 Kings 6, we’re reminded that the God who knows where a small lost item is also knows where we are, and He invites us to trust Him, talk to Him, and ask Him to open our eyes to what He’s doing. He proves Himself in the small and shows Himself just as faithful in the big.

When life is hard, praise can feel far away. But Scripture shows us a different rhythm—one where worship rises not from comfort, but from conviction. Even when you're far away and alone, in the belly of a fish or a wilderness of fear, God is still good. So we are still praising. We will give thanks to the LORD not because life is good, but because He is good!

Jesus has been exalted as king, priest, and leader of the church. And yet his exaltation hasn't changed his heart. Jesus remains a friend, inviting us to come to him and know him.

Christ has been exalted above every name and given as head over all things—for the Church. In this message, we’re reminded that Jesus is not a distant figurehead, but an active, present shepherd who speaks, sustains, and leads His body. With such a leader, why would we ever drift toward another?

And because he reigns, we can live with joy, confidence, and purpose, knowing our king is on the throne and on our side.
