Live At Five

Dark weather days typically mean a boring radio show, not today. Glenn talked up the big sale of a downtown business, bragged about the comedy show he saw this weekend, and how important our local radio shows are. Oh, and Golf-Gate too. Good stuff, but Louie called in to say we're not as tough as we think. Good grief!

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney stopped by the studio today. She just opened up her new office in Watertown and wanted to let people know how her constituents can reach to her locally or online. Good discussion about national topics and NYS topics as related to Cathy Hochul's administration.

The 'Day' after the big judgement and Glenn fielding more calls today about the Golf Gate decision. Glenn played a portion of last night's contentious city council meeting, and gave his impression to what was said. Attorney Joe Stanley called and talked about the dangers of driving in rural communities. Golf Gate isn't going away, but I think it's waning. Thank God!

The decision has been made! Watertown is a proud owner to a 3.4 million dollar golf course! Will callers be upset? Glenn was prepared, but....it took a bit I guess to sink in. Callers chimed in with their dismay, and Danny thought the deal wasn't going forward but it is. Glenn couldn't get over how the judge added, if you don't like it, vote the reps out!

Today's Hotline interview with Councilwoman Sarah Compo carried over into today's Live at Five Show. Callers chimed in with their compliments, and retractions (Danny Francis). Then Glenn talked about the uptick in 'Sudden' deaths, and asked why are Orca Whales beaching themselves on the East Coast.

Light-hearted? Nah! Trina called in again regarding the rental situation in Watertown. That spurred more calls, but things calmed down and Glenn had the opportunity to vent about how the new world is selfish and rude. This was amplified when an older man called about how dangerous people are when walking in the middle of the street with headsets on.

Judgement or not? Not! Judge McClusky needs time after today's hearing about the fate of the golf course sale. Attorney Joe Stanley gave his reasons why DNA was effective in capturing the Idaho killer. Then, Danny Francis and Tim chimed in about the banning of PJ from both AM1240 radio shows! Good stuff!

Today's Hotline Show carried a bit into today's Live show with more talk of tragic fire stories of NNY. Donnie called twice, including his own tale about burning a truck in a jealous rage. Judgement regarding the golf course is tomorrow, so all eyes on McClusky tomorrow morning!

Monday's show included a full length rant about the good things happening in downtown. Glenn shared what he saw last week and also what a new developer wishes to accomplish too. Big Steve explained why living single is good for him, and the Duff loves Florida, as long as you bought property before Covid.

Light-Hearted Friday show. Donnie and Tim had movie trivia, but Glenn wanted to cover the Idaho murders with his own opinion. Danny said there's a reason why law enforcement provides details to an investigation. Glenn also recognized Steve Bradley as the leading force behind the rebirth of Lower Court Street. Plus, how many ghost homes do we have in the city anyway?

McCarthy still not in, so Glenn set up a call with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney to see how things were going. Claudia gave her side of the story and remains hopeful the vote will finally go to McCarthy and NOT a minority leader. Debbie called about the need for our local homeless, and PJ's sister called to let us know why she is upset with Hotline host Mayor Jeff Smith. Good stuff!

Finally, a show with less of 'Golfgate'. Yes, some and good stuff from Jason and Donnie, but the show included Attorney Joe Stanley and the crazy law suit from a 1966 movie. Then the ordiance guy called in with some good points and found out that our city has 1,500 ghost houses. Good show.

More unanswered questions regarding Golf Gate, and now there's a judgement to delay the sale until Jan 11th. Now, people are actually hopeful the deal will stop. Attorney Joe Stanley called, and said basically anyone can sue the government. Glenn admitted, his recent text from our hospital was weird, and Joe said never to open anything on your phone! It's Wednesday, so it's Attorney Joe Stanley time. Today, we discussed dangerous toys that have been recalled but still available for sale. Joe advised caution. Then Glenn talked about his credit card woes, which had Joe scratching his head. Golf Gate isn't going anywhere, and now people want to hear from Pat Hickey!

It's Glenn's 60th birthday, so he reflected on his milestone moment on today's show. Good calls and birthday wishes too. Glenn shared a video of a woman who says white people are too privileged to cry reverse racism. Then Glenn's stepson Paul called in from North Carolina. Good show!

What were the top songs of 1983? Well, Oz and Glenn covered that and more at the outset of today's show. From there, it was back to Golf-Gate and a cease and desist letter from PJ Simao to Mayor Jeff Smith. While this show may not have the best information, our callers do have the right to have concerns and questions to why we're buying the course and why so much?

As we move further from Golf Gate, it keeps coming back. Glenn fielded calls from Tim and Lefty and who STILL can't believe we're buying a golf course for 3.4 million, then Mayor Jeff Smith chimed in with his thoughts. Is the vote final or will this deal go south? We'll keep you posted.

Well, the Golf deal is done, or is it? Tim the Enchanter called and said not so fast now. Now the city attorney is saying the deal was unconstitutional. We'll keep you posted. Attorney Joe Stanley warned people and Glenn about getting statements emailed or texted to you. Plus, only use one credit card for online purchases. Good stuff!

The day after the big vote for the golf course, and people are buzzing. Yes, it was more so on today's Hotline, but people are now saying the three libs in office will answer for this when they run again. Glenn is simply trying to make everyone happy and move on to talking about how white elite liberals are destroying the country.

Well, the vote for the golf course is tonight, and the phones didn't stop during today's Hotline and Live at Five Show. Most are clearly against it, while some are and have decent reasons to back themselves. We'll see tonight, but the vote is apparently done. Let's see the reaction.

Friday was a wrap up show to pretty much everything going on in our city and in our world. The Golf Gate issue popped up of course, and listeners didn't appreciate the Gunnut's assessment of Danny Francis. All eyes on the special city council meeting this Monday regarding the vote on the proposed sale of the 3.4 million golf club to the city. That's 'Must-See TV'!

Brittany Griner is FREE, but at what cost and why not the marine? Anyway, Glenn says reparations are already here and today's trade off is a strong indicator to that. Plus, Griner will still hate the US and refuse to stand to the flag. Danny Francis had his take, as did SG. Good show!

Tuesday's Live Show included an irate Tim the Blink Guy, who said his friend was turned away from the new homeless shelter. Glenn offered help, but what are you gonna do? Jim Leven stopped by to talk up about the state of things including Hunter Biden and other exciting political and cultural issues.

Was it wise to move the Christmas parade to lower Washington St? Many say no, especially the businesses on Public Square. We'll see in the coming weeks if the city decides to move it back. Then, Liz from Connecticut called to talk about the Died Suddenly documentary, plus her two cents about the Idaho murders too. SG downplayed everything, of course!
