Listening WELL to the KING

Pastor Rick taught from Acts 17:1-15 and talked about how the church at Thessalonica and Berea both received and responded well to God's Word.  We can learn much about receiving and responding to God's Word from these early churches.

A normal day of ministry turns into a beating and imprisonment. Instead of anger and resentment... Paul and Silas pray and sing to their Lord publicly.  Prisoners couldn't believe their ears.  The gospel changed everyone who responded and lives were changed.  Pastor Rick teaches from Acts 16:16-40 at CrossPoint Church.

At CrossPoint Church, Pastor Rick covered Acts 15:36-16:15 where conflict between Paul and Barnabas is resolved and Paul and Silas begin his second missionary trip.  So many truths to apply... so practical.

We all expect conflict from outside the church... but we find conflict comes from within the church in Acts 15.  The elders in Jerusalem listened to the Spirt and made a decision about the Gospel.  Listening to the Spirit encourages and brings Joy.  Pastor Rick taught from Acts 15:1-30.

Paul passion for the Gospel is inspiring.  He wants everyone to know that the Gospel changes lives and eternity.  So, after being stoned, he continues to preach and make disciples where ever he goes!  Pastor Rick covers Acts 14 this morning at CrossPoint Church.

Pastor Rick teaches from 1 Thessalonians 1 and 2 where the Apostle Paul uses a mom as an illustration of what making disciples look like.  A challenging message for Parents and the flock.

The Antioch church leaders are led by the Spirit as they worship and fast.  God appoints Barnabas and Paul to lead the first missionary trip which begins in Cyprus.  Acts 13:1-12 shouts and helps us understand so much about the church.

James is killed and Peter is put in prison... ready for execution the next day.  Meanwhile the church earnestly prays their leaders.  Pastor Rick addresses the questions that surface as you enjoy God's supernatural rescue and covers Acts 12:1-19

Pastor Rick focused on Christ's Last Words, "It is Finished" before focusing on Christ's resurrection!

The gentiles in Antioch respond to the GOSPEL.  Barnabas and Saul spend a year encouraging these new believers. The growing Antioch church helps us understand discipleship.  Pastor Rick covered Acts 11:19-30

God continues to rock the early church.  It's taken some years... but God gets through to Peter who becomes His spokesperson to the church. God saves and unleashes the Holy Spirit to Gentiles which ultimately opens the church to every people group.  Pastor Rick teaches from Acts 10:1-11:18.

People continue to come to faith once Peter miraculously heals Aeneas and Tabitha.  God continues to work supernaturally today as His people walk with Him.  Pastor Rick covers Acts 9:31-43.

The greatest thorn in the early churches flesh is SAVED.  Saul responds to God's grace and immediately begins to proclaim that Jesus was the Messiah.  Ananias obedience makes him another early church hero.  Pastor Rick covers Acts 9:1-31 in todays amazing story.

Pastor Rick covers Acts 8 and focuses on Philip.  Philip listened to the Spirit and had a most unusual Kingdom impact in Samaria, with church leadership and in Ethiopia.  Ordinary Spirit filled people make huge Kingdom impacts.

Ordinary Stephen was filled with the Spirit and made a huge impact... until he breathed his last breath.  We can learn much from Stephen.  Stephens death ushered the early church into stage two of God's evangelism plan.  Pastor Rick covered Acts 6:8-8:3.

Pastor Rick covers Acts 6:1-7 where conflict within the church is dealt with in a God honoring way.  Pastors and Elders are to focus on teaching, leading and praying... which simply means other godly leaders need to take care of ministering to flock.  Dealing with conflict well keeps the church on mission and is an amazing testimony in the neighborhood.

God sends a chilling message to the early church.  Sin and rebellion were a big deal then and are so today.  May God fill us with the Spirit so that we might boldly proclaim Jesus is the Savior.  Pastor Rick covered Acts 4:32-5:42

Pastor Rick covers Acts 4:1-31.  Peter and John get tossed in Jail and the persecution of Christians begin.  Their story ignited the church to pray for more boldness and God granted their requests.

Pastor Rick spent some time on the Axioms of the early church in Acts 2:42-47 and then challenged us to be devoted to community like the early church and be sensitive for the divine appointments that God faithfully sends our way (Acts 3)

God sends his Spirit and gives life to the body called the church!  The mission is the same as the Spirit empowers and makes us witnesses.  Pastor Rick covers Acts 2:1-41

Pastor Rick begins the new Series called UNFINISHED... a study in the book of ACTS.  He covered Acts 1:1-11 in the message to CrossPoint Church.

Pastor Rick focuses on Luke 2:1-7 where Dr. Luke gives us a few details about the birth that changed the world. The Savior has come and will have a relationship with you... if you let Him. This is still Good News.

Mary and Joseph had much faith.  In spite of their fear, they listened to God.  May we all listen to God better... especially when it doesn't make sense.  This young couple is inspiring.

God gave the greatest of all messages, the good news to a group of lowly shepherds.  The shepherds met Jesus and became the first evangelists of the good news.
