In Isaiah 61 we hear the voice of the promised servant speak about his mission to bring salvation to God's people. We know from Jesus himself in Luke 4 that this passage of scripture was referring to Jesus. God fulfils his promises, and that means he will make good on his promises for your salvation through faith in Jesus and all the other blessings promised to you in scripture. Do you trust him?

In this message, we learn that through the prophet Isaiah God reveals that because he is unique and there is no other God like Him he will pour out his grace on humanity and send an anointed saviour like Cyrus to save the whole world.

In the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus that Jesus tells in Luke 16:19-31 we learn that how we use our money reveals the true state of our heart. For the rich man, his lack of concern for others showed that, like the Pharisee's in Jesus' day, he loved money not God. If we love God, how then should we use our money? Does Jesus want you to steal and cheat with your money as long as it's for good outcomes? When we read the parable of the shrewd manager in Luke 16:1-15 that's what it can feel like at first. Sometimes it can be hard to keep your faith, especially when you're under pressure to give it up. The good news is you're not alone, God's people have always had to stand firm in their faith under pressure.
