A quote from the poet Audre Lorde brings Ces and Lee to write about defining one's self with certainty whilst transforming society's frame to fit ourselves fully and authentically. Ces says "its being a circle in a stiffened square". We talk about our childhood, transgender elders, and the comfort and possibilities offered by books.

This episode bring our writing to the places - physically, mentally, emotionally - where we were at the beginning the pandemic. We talk about the uncertainty, the worries, the challenges as well as the positive things that arose from 2020.

Ces and Lee's trigger line for this episode comes from Alice Walker's foreword for the book "Barracoon" by writer and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston's book. This prompts us to write about coping with loss - of love, of innocence, and the different ways we handle and live through the loss.

This episode's trigger phrase - the mind is like a wild horse... - is from the book "The Happiness Trap" by Dr. Russ Harris. Ces and Lee talk about some of the dialogue between the versions of ourselves within us - the child and the adult. We also get to talk a bit about our work as facilitators.
