Happy Easter, Lifetree Family! It was so good to see so many of you last night at our Saturday Night Lifetree service and this morning at our Sunrise Service! Last night, we talked about the greatest display of love our world has ever seen - a love that no Netflix show or romance movie could ever compare to.

Life is full of defining moments in our lives. Some of those could be ordinary and others could be extraordinary. The visitation of God is not some casual moment. It is always full of purpose and opportunity. He comes to help us understand the way to Peace. It is our opportunity for salvation.

Idols always over promise and under deliver; they are always more costly than we imagine. The Idol of Power promises Authority and demands we believe we don't need anyone else. But, if we refuse to worship power, to chase after it, and if we instead trust the God of All Power then He will give us the power we need to do what is ours to do.

The Idol of Understanding promises answers. It promises that when you know enough then you'll be satisfied, that if we could only figure out how it all works then we'd be so much better. The battle for our hearts is tested daily as we encounter situations and circumstances that challenge our understanding. Will you trust the God of all wisdom, or will you demand an answer? When we worship the Idol of Approval, we have to continually keep up with the demands for acceptance. The Idol of Approval makes us a slave to the opinions of others. But there's hope because we have the true source of approval.

Sometimes it can feel like God is asking too much of us. What we can learn from Noah is this: when God prompts us to do something, no matter how impossible or unbelievable of overwhelming it is, He WILL help us.

The unchanging God promises us that we can change. It doesn't matter who you are or how unlikely you are to change, God will present you with the opportunities to change just like He did with Rahab. If you will put your hope in God's promise of change, one day you are going to look back and say, "I'm not who I was. God has changed me."

When you're tired of doing what's right and feel like quitting, remember, there is wonderful joy ahead. Don't stop running. It is going to be worth it. 1 Peter 1:6 "So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while."

We all have lots of habits, and this week we will pray about making worship one of those habits. 

This week we are celebrating our one year anniversary of the High Five Podcast and learning that when we worship, we enter God's presence, and that is where we find true joy.

This week we pray about Rethinking Jesus so we can understand who He is and what our relationship is like with Him.

This week we are praying about the joy and freedom that we can live in every day because of our salvation through Jesus. 

This week we are praying about being a part of God's family. 

Jesus is the truth and we can ask him to help us see and build our lives on truth.
