As Christians, we are commanded to not only see those that are suffering, but to have compassion for them. Unlike empathy that merely tells us to think about others, biblical compassion drives us share in the offering of others and act on their behalf. 

The parable of the ten virgins teaches us what true anticipation of Christ’s return looks like. We wait patiently, eagerly, and faithfully. 

The Parable of the Mustard is often misunderstood by many. At the heart of Jesus’ parable the desire for his people to deepen their faith him as their infant faith grows into a mature, long-lasting relationship with him. 

The Prodigal Son is one of Jesus’ most known parables. However, it is far more than a feel good story. This wonderful parable reveals to use the gracious heart of God and serves a sharp warning to those who think they can earn good standing with God.

God doesn’t sit passively while people go to Hell, neither does he sit and wait for us to come to him. He chases us, picks us up, and carries us home. Not only that, but he rejoices with all of Heaven when one sinner is saved. 

The Bible teaches us that our biggest problem is sin. All of us are born with a heart that is hardened towards God and his purposes. Although sinful hearts resist God in different ways, Christ is the Sower who came to make us alive in him. 

In the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, Jesus presents us with two options. We will either be boastful and egocentric and make ourselves the center of the world, or we will be humble and Theocentric with God at the center of our life. 

In this sermon, we honor and encourage the men and fathers of our church.

Money is a good and valuable resource, but apart from God it will always leave us wanting more. 

Religious activities and rituals are empty and meaningless apart from God. We must have reverence before the Lord according to his will laid out in Scripture.

The world is full of chaos, and those who are in charge of keeping the peace exciting justice are often part of the problem. Solomon reminds us that this is all due to sin, and apart from God, the world is stuck in endless cycle of brokenness and injustice.

Life is short, and we often cannot see the many things that God is doing all around us. Solomon teaches us that the only way to make the most of life, we must honor God above all things and put our faith in him.

Prepare your heart for Easter and look to the cross of Christ.

Pleasure, work, and wisdom are good things but are ultimately meaningless without God. 

This world offers many things to satisfy our cravings. Some of the world’s things are good and others are not. However, the book of Ecclesiastes teaches us no matter what we pursue, nothing in this world can truly satisfy like only God can. 

Psalm 110 has a unique place in Scripture and in church history. In just one short verse, we hear the Father boast about Christ his Son who is seated at his right hand.

A Godly marriage is a marriage that reflects the love and unity of the Triune God. Therefore, we are to be united with Christ so that we might reflect that same unity to each other as husbands and wives.
