Life in Exile

We need to prepare our hearts and minds to carry the message of Christ to a lost and dying world. As we share, we can be confident that God goes before us and protects us.

It's so easy in these dark days to be deceived by things that sound good. There has never been a greater time to test the spirits. The answer key is Jesus.

God calls. We answer, but then we have to make the final decision about where to serve. It's not easy. What can be done?

He has come, and he's coming again. This is cause for celebration. No matter what your day looks like, with Christ we can have peace and hope. 

Pictures and words can trigger deep memories of a life gone by. A memory of my parents was triggered by some homemade rhythm instruments and a long word. What triggers yours?

There is a tradition that has carried on for over 2,000 years. It's the tradition of missionaries sharing with their sending church all that God has done. These are Antioch stories.

What makes you want to run fast and tell someone something? When it's good news. That's exactly what we should be doing with the message of Christ.

Have you asked for patience and then had a chance to prove it? What about humility? What do we do when we're tested? Look for his grace.

Have you ever fasted? What does fasting mean to you? Is it a diet? A religious requirement? Something mystical? What is the fasting God requires?

Is the message of salvation through a suffering savior one to be believed? Yes.  Who do we share it with? Those who blaspheme the name of our God.

Are you a member of a church? Is membership important? What does commitment mean? What does the Bible say?

What is one of the leading causes of defection from the mission field? Disappointment due to the need for perfection or control, as it's commonly termed. What's the cure? Surrender.

In the best of times, in the worst of times, Jesus prays. What about you? Think about that as you review John 17.

What's the evidence of a growing Christ-follower? They heard, they believed, and they produce fruit. Making disciples needs all three.

As Jesus closes his prayer in John 17, he has one final request: that we would see his glory.

What would you say if you had to explain the meaning of Christ’s death and resurrection? Could you do it? Will you make the effort to learn for the sake of Christ?

Why do we have to stay in this world, when Jesus left to enjoy the glory of heaven? Could be because we’ve got some work and sanctifying to do.

When the world’s throwing everything at you, how do you stand firm in your faith? What does loyalty to God look like in today’s world?
