The Sermon on the Mount finishes with 2 roads, 2 trees and 2 houses, that all make the same point.  This week, what way will you choose? Will you choose the way of life? Our choice matters.

Exercising judgement and passing judgement are two different things. This message challenges us to resist the judgement of another person's heart and challenges the judgementalism about ourselves which leads to condemnation.

"What worries you in the dark is nothing to be afraid of in the light".  In this message Trent explores the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-34 where Jesus exposes what worry is attached to, exposes what it is and offers the cure.

Our attitude to material wealth is not a peripheral concern to Jesus, but rather a central aspect of how we live as Kingdom citizens. Discover the importance of the location of our treasures, because where your treasure is will be where your heart is.

3,000 were slain by the sword if the law at Mt Sinai. 3,000 were baptised into the new covenant n the day of Pentecost and became the first church. Here we look at the four practices the first church devoted themselves to. 

This message looks at Matthew 5:33-37. Here Jesus is calling us to have honesty with our words and simplicity with our speech, that our words are trustworthy and that our words build others up.  We are reminded that where our words might fail, God's words never fail. He means what He says. 

Here we look at what Jesus says in Matthew 5:38-48 where Jesus challenges the script of our age (alongside Leviticus 24:17-22 and 1 Peter 2:23-24). We are reminded that will power is not the answer, rather we need a reframing of our minds. It takes a deep abiding in Christ to live as Jesus did.

Here we look at Jesus's words in Matthew 6:1 where He talks of practicing our righteousness. This serves as an introduction to 3 spiritual practices that will help us grow in our faith - when you give, when you pray and when you fast. What we practice is what we become.

Here in Matt 5:31-32 Jesus is condemning the practice of treating women as property and not people. Men are to grant women grace and honour as fellow heirs, who bear the image of Christ. It highlights that Paul considered divorce a legitimate possibility not only in cases of desertion by an unbeliever, but also in situations of violent abuse.
