Often times, what restrict us from the consciousness of eternity is the love of the world. As soldiers of christ, we must not be entangled with the affairs of this world. So we must seek the help of the Holy spirit to help us not to love the world and the things in it. And in any way we have chosen to love the world subtly, the spirit of God brings this to light and helps us walk away from them.

The Lord is gearing our hearts towards the consciousness of eternity. This will in turn affect our decisions, passion and the things we hope for/give our attention to. As we pray, the word will come alive in us. We will be sober yet again and live bearing this at heart.

As growing christians, it is important we get to a point where our convictions about our faith and salvation is deep beyond doubts. We must come to the point of handling this reality. The new birth experience isn’t the end of our journey but a beginning to walk with God. Hence, we need to grow deeper daily and this determines the quality of life/decisions that we live/make. The holy spirit is in us to help us see God more clearly, love Him more dearly and follow Him more nearly. This He may not do forcefully if we stay passive and satisfied with just going to church on Sundays....

The spirit within us thoroughly does the work of pruning by fire. Most times, what keeps us retarded in our walk with God are things that are common to us; excess sleep, food, screen time, depression, laziness, distractions etc. These are chaffs and they restrict us from coming up hither in the Lord. In this episode, we trust the unquenchable fire of the spirit to burn up every chaff as we pray.

We depend upon the strength of the spirit to help our infirmities and release on us the fresh grace to pray because, man cannot engage in the ministry of prayer by his strength.
