Let's Be Saints!

1st rule for seeking the treasure of Heaven: Don’t be dumb! The battle for your family has already begun. Who/what do you worship? Who/what holds your attention?

He has come to cast holy fire upon us and upon our university! He has come to fill us—His treasure—with an abundance of His love.

My life is not about “me”; it is about listening to Love, and moving with Him.

Mary listens, trusts, and receives. Do I? What can I learn from her heart?

Work does NOT make us free. Only Love can.

God bless Joshua! He withstood the interior movement of false martyrdom; of false victimhood. True martyrdom is rooted in listening to Love.

The most important people in the gospel are not named. Am I like them?

“He is your glory. Stay close to Him.” How is Jesus “showing off” in your life? Has He yet convinced you of His unique and personal love for you?

“Fear not little flock, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you His Kingdom.” “The one who makes the promise is trustworthy.” Do you trust that He loves you, and is giving you the kingdom? Do you trust Him?

Our life is not about us; it’s about Him! Eyes on Him—He is trying to give you the promised land!

Jesus is a pretty big deal…are you listening to Him?

Mary embodies the Church and each of her members through her title “Theotokos.” She shows us how we are called to “bear God” in our own lives.

The great treasure of the Church is Jesus and also the souls He laid down His life to save. Am I looking at Jesus? Is what He is offering enough for me?

It’s all passing away. So, “seek what is above.” Am I rich in the things that matter to God? Nothing matters more to Him than our salvation. Does my own salvation matter to me as much as it matters to Jesus and the Church?

The treasure of the Kingdom of Heaven is Jesus, but it is also you. From the perspective of Jesus and His Church, YOU are the great treasure of His Heart and of His love. He would do anything for you. The people of Israel listened to their shepherds as if they spoke on behalf of God. Do I?

The saints of today saw Jesus. He was able to rest with them at Bethany because He knew that they saw Him, and they made space in their life to be with Him and care for Him.

The priesthood lies at the service of right worship.

Is God my foundation? Do I know about Him, or do I know Him? Jesus, would you help me know the Father?

Blessed are your eyes and your ears! St. Charbel wants to be with God. Do you?

“Present yourselves before the LORD, for He has heard your grumbling.” Does the new manna call me into relationship, or do I stay in isolation, fixated on myself and everything that is bad in my life?

“Why are you weeping?” Do you believe in the resurrection? Will you go to the tomb, or do you think that sin and death win?

Israel doesn’t know what to do or where to go, and so she complains! She is stuck and is hopeless! God tells her to be still. There is something greater than Solomon and Jonah here.

The Gospel of Mary and Martha is understood in light of Abraham’s behavior in the first reading. Do I want to be with God? I get anxious and burdened when I choose isolation over relationship.

Jesus is meek and humble of heart…is that really that powerful? The Carmelite Martyrs of Compiegne reveal to us the answer. Their meekness and humility ended the bloody reign of terror in France.

Pilgrimage Mass at the Shrine of St. Mary Magdalene What does it mean for me to put myself in a place where Jesus, the Good Samaritan, can find me and rescue me? St. Mary Magdalene knew how to do this. That we could as well!
