Let's Be Saints!

Only one thing or person can come first in our life. Who/what comes first in yours? Christ commands us to love Him and our neighbor. What if He meant your literal neighbor?

Healing always comes from within, and the body can heal itself when its members remain connected to it. Such is the case for the Church and her members.

Jesus can do far more with my poverty than my generosity; He can do far more with my littleness than my talents.

Why does the Church pray for the dead? Because every person will exist forever, and because you are free.

Freedom is at the service of love. The first All Saints celebration down to our own day commemorates the members of our family who know and live the truth of who they are: children of a good and loving father.

Jesus is completely unafraid of worldly power. Am I?

“They will recline at table.” Reclining reflects defenselessness, peace, and vulnerability. Do I want to recline at table?

What we do in this life echoes for eternity. Say yes!

“The LORD hears the cry of the poor.” Do I pray in a way that He hears me?

Jesus comes to bring division…um what?!

John Paul II, like any authentic Jayhawk, trusted Jesus Christ. JP2 was convinced that we can only find ourselves in Christ. His life speaks volumes to us; Jesus is Who He says He is. Be not afraid!

“Gird your loins!” Am I awake and aware, or am I distracted and asleep?

Nothing matters more to God than real love. Abraham trusted this love; the Devil cannot comprehend it. Does self-sacrificing love matter to me?

Do you know the One whom we worship? He doesn’t ask us to slay Amalekites! He asks us to praise and thank Him because we are not the Savior; we are children; men and women who are “drawn from water.”

Ignatius is a very important name that Catholics should know. He learned to follow Christ through the witness of the apostles, and his writings and life reveal to us that the Catholic faith is true. The witness of this saint continues to draw people into the embrace of the Catholic Church, because faith comes from what is heard.

The Pharisees have an agenda which moves them to interrogate Jesus and act with hostility towards Him…am I listening to Jesus or to my own agenda?

“LORD, increase our faith…God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather of power and love and self-control.” Life is the fruit of a love that refuses to bow to fear.

Do I let the LORD of history touch my life and my story? What does He have access to in me?

Do you live in the real world, or do you live in America?

One of the littlest saints in history is also one of the greatest. She made space in her life for the Father. She trusted in and loved this Father. Do I?

Jesus knows where He is headed and who He is walking with. Do I know where I am going, and who I am walking with?

Archangels are real, and they want to help us. They confront the great accuser and listen to their love for life…do I?

The greatest Jayhawk in history rose from the dead. Are you listening to Him?

“Herod kept trying to see Him.” Herod wants to see Jesus, but not for good reason. Herod wants to see Jesus, but will not uproot himself in order to see Him. Do you want to see Jesus? Why do you want to see Jesus? Will you uproot yourself in order to go in search of Him?

We are a community that burns for the treasure of the Church. Light is necessary in order for me and for others to be able to see. Let the holy fire fall and ignite your story and this world!
