Leprosy on SermonAudio

The sermon explores the difficult laws of Leviticus regarding skin diseases to reveal profound theological truths about life, death, and holiness. It explains that these rituals were designed to maintain Israel as a beachhead of life in a kingdom dominated by death, where physical decay served as a visible preview of mortality. The preacher argues that Jesus entered this realm of death not to be d...

Because of sin we are unclean, but by the grace of Jesus Christ, we are cleansed and declared clean.

Sunday Service

This sermon explores the spiritual cleansing provided by Jesus through an exposition of Luke 5:12-16, where He heals a man with leprosy. The preacher uses the physical disease as a metaphor for sin, illustrating how humanity is defiled and isolated by its own filth yet blind to its need for redemption. By touching the unclean leper, Jesus demonstrates His willingness and power to absorb human sinf...

This incident of Jesus' cleansing of the leper is a tremendous example for us today; not only of how Christ immediately healed a person of one of the worst of mankind's bodily diseases, but also of how He can immediately save and cleanse the vilest of sinners. How can I describe to you the greatness of Christ's willingness to save you and to cleanse you from all sin? He is most certainly willing t...

The sermon warns against the destructive nature of pride by examining King Uzziah, who was struck with leprosy for trespassing into God's holy space. It contrasts this biblical warning with the Christian call to make one's calling and election sure through diligent self-examination and reliance on divine grace. The preacher emphasizes that believers must run their spiritual race with humility, loo...

MEETING NEEDS. Luke 5:12–16; 27–32 KJV Jesus never looked at people as interruptions—He saw them as opportunities for ministry. In Luke 5, Jesus encounters two men society would rather avoid: a leper considered unclean and Levi, a publican considered sinful. Yet Jesus reached toward both of them with compassion and grace. In this Bible study, "Meeting Needs," we discover that connecting with peopl...

Naaman is now faced with a crossroads. Does he obey the man of God who revealed to him the cure for his leprosy? It didn't make sense to him, but obedience proved to be the key to Naaman's victory over his disease.

The sermon examines Mark 1:40-45 to demonstrate Jesus' identity as the promised Messiah through the healing of a leper. It highlights the cultural severity of leprosy and the legal requirement for a priestly testimony, which had never been fulfilled in Israel's history. By commanding the healed man to present himself to the priests, Jesus provides irrefutable evidence of His divine authority and p...
